russell_bynum
From our friends at Soup: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2010/Jan/100114-21.htm Personally...I've always felt that John was wildly overrated as a rider. Fans said that he crashed all the time and didn't place well because he was on inferior equipment. I'm sure that's part of it, but I dunno...I just never thought he was all that great. (relatively speaking, of course) We know the M4 Suzuki's have been competitive, so it'll be interesting to see what happens and how he does. Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
Anyone else showing up? I'm not going to rag on him. What these guys do is amazing. Is there anything about the new year in US racing that will get us to support? Link to comment

Is there anything about the new year in US racing that will get us to support? So far it doesn't seem like it. I think if DMG is going to revive the series they're going to have to substantially increase the amount of money they're willing to put into it. As it stands now, a lot of privateer teams won't run because the purses have gotten so small that they can't cover their costs. I don't know if DMG is willing to wander in the wilderness for years to completely remake the series into two-wheeled NASCAR. If that's their plan, then I think someone else should start a manufacturer supported series. I didn't watch any AMA stuff last year. I restricted my viewing to WSBK racing, along with a couple MotoGP races although overall I find the GP stuff pretty boring. Link to comment

Last year was the first I ever really gave a damn about road racing and I watched the Ben Spies show pretty religiously. I will watch him in GP as well, but I really got hooked on WSBK Link to comment
