bakerzdosen
Interesting. I know I didn't know most of that... (beyond the fact that there IS a Hubble telescope.) Link to comment
sgendler
My favourite hubble images, by far. The original deep field has been my desktop background for a decade. Link to comment
AviP
Darn! Now I feel so little, so pathetic, so insignificant when I say I ride my RT exploring the continent. Some day perhaps humans will be getting in a spaceship and exploring the galaxies. Thanks for the video. Link to comment
steve.foote
It makes you wonder what we're going to find when we are eventually able to see beyond what we believe is the end of the universe. Link to comment
upflying
Humbling, earth is a mere grain of sand in the Sahara Desert known as the Universe. I am confident future generations will learn there are other inhabited "Earths" out there. Link to comment
FlyingFinn
It makes you wonder what we're going to find when we are eventually able to see beyond what we believe is the end of the universe. In the most widely accepted model of the universe it does not have an end. It's not infinite in size but it doesn't have an end either. Good analogy is the 2-dimensional surface of a sphere. It has finite surface area but no end. In similar way the universe has a finite size but no discernable end. No location or area of the universe is its center either. So the old saying "center of the universe" is actually quite flawed. There is no such place anywhere. -- Mikko Link to comment
