Yuro
I have an '05 1200RT with 55K. I noticed that the right side turn signal would sometimes fail. This started in a light rain and I figured I got some water in the switch. The problem would go away if I used the signal button repeatedly. Now, however, I have total failure. It is not a bulb. The 4-ways work fine. Anyone been through this before? I'm hoping I can just take it apart and spray some contact cleaner on it and then dilectric grease and reassemble but I thought it might be good to ask first. I have a friend with a K1200RS (analog, but with the same style turn signal switches as my; bike. He says his right side signal fails occasionally in the rain and has been doing it for years. I strongly suspect the switch or the wire from the switch to the electrics. The bike has handlebar risers on it. Wisdom appreciated. Thanks, -TB Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
Contact cleaner good. Dielectric grease is not conductive. You can use it on the connections but not where you want current to flow between the grease and the connection. Link to comment

Ken H.
It’s been a bit of a known issue, especially on the ‘05s. Your approach is good, although eventually you may have to replace the switch assembly. Usually it’s the left side one though (because of the angle of the bars when on the side stand) so you’re really the (un)lucky one! Link to comment

More likely the lucky one in the sense that beemerboneyard is more likely to have a replacement. Link to comment
Smoky
Mine did that, but was cured after spraying WD40 inside the switch. Didn't remove it or anything, just gave it a spay, it's still sometimes needs a firm push to get it to work. Link to comment
JohnBeaven
It is an interesting theory that the angle of the bike on the sidestand leads to failure of the left side indicator switch. I rarely use my sidestand and yet my switch failed. However, when on the centre stand i lock the 'bars to the left... Link to comment
