David
Had a nice weekend ride in Nashville. Weather was perfect, and a bunch of people were having picnics and admiring the late fall along the Nathez Trace Parkway. I'd ridden out to a biker hangout for breakfast, and this guy named Eric Boston or something pulled up on this green Kawasaki. I didn't know who he was, but he thought he was pretty important. He asked if we could switch bikes a bit, and I said sure. I was a little nervous about how he stalled mine and then paddled off. (Who is this yahoo, I'm thinking to myself.) We switched gear, too, being the same size and wanting to be color coordinated. At any rate, I quickly lost him when we hit SR96. I wanted to get to the Trace and see what it would do. Bill Hawkins (K2R) was with me, and I asked him to pull ahead and get some pictures. The is one of the shots he snapped. I thought it turned out pretty good. (You can make out the picnic folks in the background. They seemed to enjoy my riding.) A couple of corners later I was actually getting lower to the ground, but I was on the cell phone when this was taken. My wife called and wanted me to pick up some milk on the way home, so part of my attention was diverted elsewhere. I hope you all had fun riding last weekend. BTW, I don't know what Eric B. did behind me. He seemed to be a pretty nervous rider. Link to comment
Les is more
David, I'm only surprised that you weren't also checking the GPS and taking the photo yourself. Thanks for my first good laugh of the day. Link to comment
TimButterfield
I especially liked how you were able to use almost all of the inside lane on that left hander. Link to comment

I remember saying something to my wife on the phone about that, too: "I sure hope no one comes around this corner, honey. If I cut out real quick, I'll call you back in a few minutes." chadhargis
That picture must have been taken shortly after the local merchants around the "hangout" called the police! Link to comment
rdfrantz
David, I notice in the photo how you have so cleverly covered the brake lever so that from this lean angle you can effect a rapid dismount when from your great visual vantage point a quarter is revealed in the roadway -- which is how you're going to be making a living if any of your CLIENTS takes this tread seriously. Scoop 'em up, Buddy. Link to comment
Tool
Hmmm... I don't smoke, but if you feel like selling some of whatever YOU'RE SMOKING... I'm IN! BTW, did you know I'm more-or-less the same size as Miguel Du Hamel? Got some shots somewhere around here of me at the Halloween Party at Sears Point... Here ya go! Happy Friday and Sweet Dreams to all! Link to comment
russell_bynum
You're totally nuts. BTW, if anyone's hungry for some good moto-porn, www.motorcycle.com has some wallpaper-sized shots (I want to say they're 1600X1200 resolution) of Valentino Rossi doin' his thing this season as well as some equally hi-res shots of Nicky Hayden doing a test ride on his new GP bike. I believe it's subscription-only, but subscriptions are really cheap. Link to comment
Laura
David: Yeah!!!! you looked great guy! I could see you behind me as I took a quick glance. Seriously now Just look at that picture......look at it......doesn't it give you goosebumps?!?!?! I would love to do that just once! Actually....Just once is all I'd get....I'd be low sliding clear across the state. Link to comment
sgendler
What a pu$$y! David, you don't even have your elbow on the ground. Surely you can do better than that?!!!! Didn't you just come back from a track school or something? --sam Link to comment
Red Barchetta
I agree with Sam. There is at least 3/8" of chicken strip on that front. Quit sandbaggin' and flog that thing Link to comment
BMWRich58
Yea, Eric called me and told me about the switch and claimed he stalled the bike 'cuz it was badly in need of a tune-up. Dang "Rookies",I told him that David keeps his $hit in top notch condition, and that he needs to go back to ridin' school! Link to comment
Polo
In reply to: Had a nice weekend ride in Nashville. Weather was perfect...color=blue> Good for you David. I'm glad your recent track school is paying off. The weather is great here in Austin too. A balmy 65, sunny and dry. That's why I rode my bike in to work this morning, I hope to cut off early and go home the longest possible route. In fact I have been working so steady in order to get out of here, I didn't even think of changing my boots this morning. This bit of forgetfulness came as a blessing after reading your post. Thanks to having my boots on, none of this unadulterated B$color=red> has soiled my socks. Good one! Link to comment
murrayg
Impressive David, can you do that for us once in Eureka Springs? I can't wait to see you get the RT leaned over that far. You know we can have you sent for a psych evaluation for even thinking about riding like that. Link to comment
USAF1
How many bottles of Ex-Lax did you have to take afterwards to loosen yourself up? That appears to be an EZ-Leaker hanging out just behind your right boot.......... And it looks like you had your eyes closed..... Pat Link to comment
