UnRally Miscellany . . . .

Recommended Posts

As a honorary California Native and Unitarian, I'm ashamed to say I didn't really know who Thomas Starr King was. We have two dear friends who attended seminary at Starr King in Berkley, too. We saw the rainbow cabins just north of Rogers Campground and a Starr King on the map very near here. Cool that he vacationed right here before he went out west and "saved" California from becoming a separate republic, and one of the top ten largest economies (by GDP) in the world. You're welcome, Whip.

So you two were talking about the economy around the Barbeque Grill? Thought it looked serious.

Thanks for the insight and the mini history lesson on Starr King. Frankly, I never heard of him and was uninformed.

Until there was a story on the statue removal here in Sacramento, I'd never heard of him, either. There are alot of 'Starr King' roads and schools here in California. Now I know why. He made a considerable contribution to the state and elsewhere.

Isn't this what I did?? Instructions from the FAQ page...

In order to add an image to your message or your signature, you must have the image already available on a web server and reachable by a URL. This can be an image on your own personal web page, for example. To place an image within a message, simply use the following Markup Tag:

image_name.gif

For example, if you have an image called cateye.gif and its available from your own website at http://www.mywebsite.com/pics, then you would use the following image markup:

cateye.gif

I think your img tags are correct, but this: "http://gallery.me.com/jkwinchester1#100309/IMG_0599&bgcolor=black" does not point to an image.

Go to the image, right click on it, and choose "Copy Image Location". Then paste that into the img tags. It needs to be an image file, like a jpg.

I guess this fits best in UnRally miscellany. On my way from home to the UN, I was invited to stay in Cortland, NY with Steve Gomez (CruisinCruisan) and his wife Ute. What wonderful people! Spent the evening wit a superb dinner and the best conversation. Thank you, Steve and Ute!
