Burton Briggs Pegs

I received a set of Burton Briggs highway pegs yesterday in the mail. On the installation instruction it says you have to completely remove the head cover, this includes removing the plug cap / coil.

Couldn't I just loosen the 4 cover bolts per head and remove the upper 2, thread on the supplied nuts and re-torque the cover bolts in a crisscross pattern with the Burton Briggs bracket in place? Am I missing something?

Anyone installed these pegs? Which method did you use? Any oil leaks after installation?

I don't believe you can just pull those head cover bolts out because of the "stops" built into them. You need to install the spacers for the B-B mounts onto the ends of those bolts so the only way to get to them is to remove the covers. Not a big deal. Just do it.

TBS, I would not use the B-B mounts because they reduce the amount of bolt threads gripping the hole threads, while putting even MORE force on the bolts. Just asking for trouble, IMHO.
