bike transport

I am planning a trip from LA to Seattle next month and am considering shipping 2 bikes back so I do not have to do California again. I checked the bike transport companies and they charge about $600 per bike. Any idea of a lower transport cost such as a train or anything else???

Is it a time issue, or do you just really hate riding great motorcycle roads?

I may have to ship the Ducati to San Francisco and have not yet checked the cost but wonder if it is more feasible to just sell the bike here and buy another one out there?

 

If it is 1,000 bucks to ship it is borderline.
