Kitsap Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 It had been pouring rain all day Tuesday up to 30 minutes before my departure. The bike had been packed since the night before and was ready to go. Could this be an omen, is that actually sun light out there? Arriving at my aunt and uncles place I'm introduced to a member of the family I had yet to meet, Wiley the Whippet. He's basically lightning packaged in fur. Now for the hair part. My aunt said short hair is sexy. My uncle, retired Air Force said, "that isn't short short but I can take care of that." Currently in Ashland, heading for CA Hwy. 36 and Arcata tomorrow. Cheers.
Steve1962 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Neat dog . And as for hair - it's overrated .........me , I love to feel the wind racing through my scalp ........... Ride safe Steve
Francois_Dumas Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 MY hair is just 3 mm longer...... and I have Nina do that ! Cute dog !
Marty Hill Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Hey Wade, cute dog. Odd, I will be going from arcata to ashland via the river road after torrey. Enjoy 36, it's a great road. See you next wed.
Matts_12GS Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Well, all I know for sure is that difference between a haircut and a good haircut is 2 days
Bruce H Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 One of these times on your way thru do look me up. This weekend is slated to be nice, I'll take off on Friday about noon. Headed for Summer Lake hot spring and then on Friday the Alvord desert.
Kitsap Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Neat dog . And as for hair - it's overrated .........me , I love to feel the wind racing through my scalp ........... Ride safe Steve I see the light Steve, or at least I now reflect it Marty, you knew I would have a silly grin today Bruce, you got it. Continuing on, the weather remained glorious with little to no traffic. Hwy. 36 was probably the most fun I've had in a long time. There is one section that looks more like a campsite road and is rough in places but wow what a ride. One definitely needs to pay attention. I need to invest in a helmet cam, I just couldn't get myself to stop. Nature finally made its call and I had no choice.. A little Shasta Just beautiful weather, and NO CARS! How is this possible? Just had my first authentic lamb & beef gyro in lovely Arcata. Down the coast tomorrow. Might try to make Bakersfield, out the door at 6am. Cheers.
mbelectric Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Nice haircut Wade, but the red RT looks better... Enjoy your ride, we got the good weather goin' on now. MB>
Kathy R Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Hey Wade, if you hadn't held on to Wiley he might have been a blur, huh?!! Now, that's a haircut! Bald is good. Have a fun trip and thanks for all the photos.
skinny_tom (aka boney) Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Wade, I was at Alice's for a couple hours right around lunch time. Did you make it? I was keeping an eye out, but granted I was there with a bunch of people and possibly distracted. Then I came up 1 all the way to Tomales, and waved enthusiastically at a red RT that, after I passed it, didn't have a top case.
ian408 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Hi ya Tom! Wade, nice day for a ride. Beautiful WX these past couple of days.
