pbbeck Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I thought I'd share an article in today's LA Times... Niche Law Firm Caters to Motorcyclists
Tony_K Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 And Russ Brown has been doing the same thing for 25 years! 1-800-4-BIKERS kinda gives ya a idea what he's all about don't it?
lopaca Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Interesting article. I too represent m/c riders to recover their costs of medical bills, loss of earning and property damages caused by someone turning left or rear ending them. The biggest hurdle is the bias is the jury pool and the insurance companies know it. You can have the best liability case in the world and you'll still spend more time trying to get the bias out of the court room than anything else. It is something that we all need to remember as we ride. The people we share the road with are potential jurors and the way we all ride and act on a motorcycle affects how jurors perceive us in the court room. Don't just ride safely, ride responsibly.

Here's one you should also know Tony - I worked for John S. Riley & Associates for over 3 years. Worked as an accident re-constructionist and investigator for him. Had to quit for a variety of reasons, but one big one was that I could no longer stand the stories, err, excuses for why the motorcyclist could not be at fault and how the 300' skid mark was normal and you should never touch the front brake as you'll go right over the handle bars, blah, blah, blah. Not that there weren't plenty of other valid claims but it just got a bit old representing those individuals who refused to take personal responsibility for themselves and, therefore, blamed everyone else for their predicament.
