Full circle, back to an RT

Hi...new guy here. In '04 I bought a new RT after a 23 year absence from bikes. Familiar story of family obligations that replaced riding for awhile. Switched to a GS Adventure after yearning for occasional gravel road. Too heavy, got rid of the GS and got a KLR. Saw a pristine '82 RS and rode it for a year before admitting that my body didn't fit the fairing. Replaced it with a '92 GS for a year, but wanted a little more wind protection for long rides. Checked out the older Concours and ST1100, but the boxer was calling be back.

That brings me to the present day...'00 R1100RT with 32k miles. Great to be back. What a beautiful fairing.

Still have the KLR to satisfy those gravel and dirt urges. Good combination in my opinion.

Awesome combination of bikes. What color is the RT, and where are the pics?

I wouldn't worry too much about getting it clean.

If you did ever wash it, then that blown out seat would just stand out even more.

Welcome to the nuthouse, migrant.

Watch out what you wish for my friend........my RT is the cleanest that it's ever been right now........and I think I have a sum total of 100 miles so far this year. Life just gets in the way some times..... :P

Beautiful. I know I am seriously prejudiced, but the styling of the newer Beemers is a real hindrance on movin' "up". I love the look of your (and my..same color) bike.

My feelings exactly!; I've said before, that when I was shopping for a bike after a 2 year hiatus, the sky was the limit, but I could not get exited about the new design inspite of technollogical advances, so I couldn't bring myself to look at anything newer than an '04. I'm more of the darker colors kind of guy, but yours looks immaculate. And with those low miles!

Like an older, but still virginal maiden...

Welcome, and many happy miles!
