T__ Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Scooter the front nose tupperware has to come off.. Twisty
DonW Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I happen to pull mine last night. I was removing the speakers (anyone want to buy them, cheap??) and trying to figure out why my fogs don't come on. Saw those two little relays and thought they might be the headlight/fog relays, but figured out they were the up and down relays for the windscreen. Ater removing side panels and "dashboard panel" (which required removing the windscreen and top dash piece), the two relays can be seen and accessed above the headlight unit. I pulled them both using a pair of standard pliers. I DID NOT need to remove the front fairing tupperware. In Twisty's diagram above, the view is from the front. Essentially you need to come in from the "back" and top. Don
11101110 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 BMW issued a service bulletin about the fog lights on the 1150 RTP for CA departments. The fog lights did not meet the requirements of the law at the time and thus were disconnected. The bulletin is over at bmwmc.net
DonW Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Thanks, I've heard that but also thought I heard it was for the pre-2003 models. My 2003 1150RTP has working fog lights. (Both are ex-CHP bikes) For the life of me I can't figure out where the lighting relays are- they are NOT the ones in the fuse/relay box. I'll try to find the bulletin. Don
