outpost22 Posted May 13, 2009 Share Posted May 13, 2009 I had Tourances on my F650 and they went 6K miles before wearing out. On road they are good, but are very poor off road. I now have Avon Distanzias and in the rear it is far superior for dual surface riding. Rear tire traction in gravel and dirt is at least 50% better than the Tourance. The Distanzia now has 7000 miles on it and still has 1/2 the tread left. This includes a trip down to Baja (with lots of off roading) and Mainland Mexico and back. In the front, the Distanzia and Tourance are about equal with both being very marginal off road. I would look at a TKC80 or similar for the front if you plan to spend 20% of the time off road.
