The Hub

M I D A M E R I C A ' S M O T O R C Y C L E R E S O R T

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hub is Mid America's Motorcycle Resort. We have a 60 unit motel, Scooters Restaurant, huge convention center, game room and lots of paved parking.

We are located in the Ozark Mountains of North Arkansas and in our opinion the best riding to be found anywhere. There are hundreds of miles of well maintained two lane roads with lots of curves and hardly any traffic. If your looking for the perfect getaway for your group or just want to come alone The Hub is the place for you!

Come let Randal, Debbie and our staff show you what true Ozark hospitality is all about.

May call tomorrow and check.

May be on my own, seems I can't get any of the locals to commit anymore :S

I know one of our guys is getting in to this party late - he got a room at a nearby town maybe 20 minutes away.

Let me do some research on it and he may need a roomie.

Can't commit, Stephen, but I'd like to attend; have to get my daughter married off next weekend before I can think straight.

It appears the Hub is only 11 miles south of Harrison. There's a hotel there, the Seville, which I've stayed at before, gave it a horrible review a few years ago, but it's changed hands and has been renovated. A friend who lives in Harrison says it's really nice. You might check it for rates, availability.

I plan to attend. I have reservations in Harrison just north on "7". This part of Arkansas is the best! Fantastic riding! Bring the sides of your tires for exercise.

PS: I believe N8! will be there with a S1000RR on display and leaving there to head to Topeka HPT for the 7/9,12 ASRA races and BMWMC Club Sporttouring Track Class (openings for the 7/9 class are still available BTW)

My decision will be near "last minute", but that may be a good thing. I'll probably be on my own also, so a straight shot up, enjoy, and a straight shot back will likely be my plan.

( I never made the Call, but I'm sure I'd have to stay in Harrison.. no prob)

David and I are going we are going to be staying at the HUB made the reservations about 1 1/2 months ago. The BMW Rep for about a 5 state area lives in our area and is a member of our local club. He said that BMW may have the S1000RR there. There will be a small group with us also. They already have the TShirts ready they are red just like my bike and are nice looking. Hope to see you there!

OK, I snagged a "just in case" room at the Super 8 in town (Harrison) for Fri and Sat nights.

If I get to show for this gig, it will be a straight up on Friday and a straight home on Sunday kind of deal.

Were would I look for a familiar face in the crowd, should I honor this event with my presence?

What's all the Hub-bub about. (Pun) Is this deal just like a Sleep Over or something? Not much info on the Site. Assuming it's just a hang out kinda deal. Ride-ride-ride, hang out, sleep, go home...

The big question????? Adult beverages! Do I need to tote my own or is there a shopping convienience nearby. IS THIS PARISH WET!?!?!?!

Hope the weather holds, nobody Weds and nobody Dies, so I can attend this function instead...

Later boys,

Okay, I'm working on this; where's everyone staying in Harrison? Stephen, the Super 8 is barely passable as a motel. I've stayed there. Insist on a non-smoking room. The Days Inn is a little better. I'm checking with some local friends who may have better suggestions. The Seville, which I mentioned earlier, is a little pricey at about a hundred bucks, taxes included.

I'll report back tomorrow when I hear from my friends.

No interesting suggestions from my friends. I've got a reservation at the Stupor 8.

I'm unclear on how many folks are attending this deal; I went to the web page, entered the "Community" forum, and is it because it's Arkansas that all the posts are about incest?

So, how many people ARE attending?

Link to comment

tHE hUB motel is sold out - some 50 rooms..so there's around 100 total...plus all the folks up in Harrison - so there's at least another 50.

I'd say there will be around 125 scoots - maybe more.

Stephen, it's been a while since I have been in the Harrison area but I would assume there are no retail outlets for adult beverages. The "Hub", however, may have a store that will fill that need.

Goodrich, your incest comment is uncalled for and serves no useful purpose. If you don't like Arkansas or don't care for the people why don't you just keep your snotty self in Texas.

Oops. My attempt at regional humor hit a nerve. Stan, did you SEE the posts on that forum? Okay, I'll not attend [although I love Arkansas and have many friends there whom I visit regularly]. There's a room opened up at the Stupor 8 in Harrison.

Feel free to make jokes about Texas any time you want. Whether they serve a useful purpose or not. Must go now, need to blow my nose.

Spammers got into the forum site, and covered it with hundreds and hundreds of sex sites, I din' do nuffink. Well, that's not true, I pointed it out to one of the dealers.

I feel much better, by the way, I took a decongestant.

You Texan's really do have a sense of humor after all.

My Dad and his Dad were both born in Texas. But when they figured out all the good cycling roads in mid-America were in Arkansas they moved here.

I think there were a few cousins who decided to marry each other but they stayed in Texas.

We're out, me'n SWMBO, we've been banned from Arkansas, so we're going to the West Virginia deal.

Actually, there's no snit involved on our end, and I assume none on the other end, either, we just decided to combine a bike trip with hiking in the Alleghenies and Appalachians.

Mark, Stephan and others,

I apologize if my comments and the subsequent change in plans for some caused any hard feelings in this community.

Hi All,

I've been playing hermit lately and just came across this thread ... am planning on being in the area over that weekend with a buddy from my VFR forum, but since I'll be on the R11, I may just coerce him into heading your way!

Would love to meet so many of you ... but if I don't have a wonderful time!!

Looking like a possibility as we're grabbing a room at that pretty hotel in Harrison for Friday and Saturday nights.

We are planning to go to the Hub for the bash.

Would someone please let us know what to expect - we haven't been to this bash before. This is reasonably close to us, so we're familiar with the roads, but not the group. We would appreciate any information on what the schedule is and how the group rides, etc.

Thank you,

Gayla & Bill

I think this is the first year for the Bash? Our BMW rep talked about how they got it organized and hope to make it a yearly thing going forward. The local dealership and other dealerships will be there. Not sure what the format will be other than no planned rides it is just a get together and nice area for riding.

Link to comment

Ok, I talked to Bentonville BMW, our local dealer, today. They are a sponsor for the event. We may have a few more people coming, we're trying to get rooms for them now. There's also a few that might meet up with us on the road during the weekend.

We're familiar with the roads if anyone has any route questions.

Be sure to run 123 while your here. Also be sure to keep watch for deer, another friend hit one last week. He's fine, but not his goldwing.

Gayla
