2002 R1150RT Foot Brake Lever

I've had my foot slip twice now on my RT and was thinking of adding a foot brake lever extention.

I'm not sure where to start looking and what would be the best.

Any ideas? What works and what are the pro's and cons to this type of thing?

my old bike came with it already installed, works great and gives you much better surface area, and i use my rear brake all the time. It slips right over the stock pedal and uses a set screw, its never come loose and my foot never slips of it.

Have you found your foot resting on it while riding and have the brake light on?

I've had the same problem finding the rear brake pedal so I put this one on about a month ago. http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=2045. It has a nice look to it and was fairly easy to install. Did need to drill one hole for the bolt as it doesn't use a set screw. The blurb say it come with barbs on the inside to hold it in place but mine has a bolt and nut. Haven't been able to road test yet but just sitting on the bike in the garage it is much easier to find now...maybe to easy. Definately elevates the height of the brake pedal by maybe 1/4 inch. I'm pretty sure this will solve any issues with finding the brake pedal now. Keith

That price is not bad.

It seems as though all brake lever extentions add about 1/4" to the height of the brake pad.

I'll have to try one and see if I have trouble with it.
