tpfeffer
I realize this is not the right forum for this question, but also realize many R11 riders graduated from R100's, so here goes. I just picked up a 1983 R100RS with 24,000 original miles. Nearly perfect condition and for an EXCEPTIONAL price. However, a couple of things need repair. The turn signals won't blink. Each side lights up when the switch is moved, but no flashing. I suspect the turn signal relay is toast. It is in the headlight shell. Rather than pay the outrageous for a BMW part, I was wondering if a NAPA or equivalent 3-prong automotive turn signal relay would work. Any suggestions? Also, is there a Air Head forum for maintenance/parts simular to this BMW Sport Touring forum? Link to comment
kioolt
I used a standard automotive flasher from the local auto parts store on my 82 R100RT with no problems. I believe that I used a 2 prong flasher instead of a 3 prong. I do remember that there was one less prong on the automotive one than was on the BMW one. Link to comment
tpfeffer
Thanks for the tip. I plugged in a 2-prong automotive relay and it worked! Now, where is that Air Head forum? Any suggestions? Link to comment
