If you "cut-n-paste" the link, you'll see the right pic. Looks like a winner. Also looks like an old Kawa sitting on top of the new bike!!! Thanks John,

I still miss the old one. Fond of her because thats what I went to motor school on. She served us well.

The new one looks neat. I'm not sure how she would do after the first week of new motors school. I'll bet it would get expensive fast.

Take a close look at the saddle bags... they cut the stock saddle bag lids in half and installed a piano type hinge on them. YUCK! Looks like mod I've seen done to many of the 1300ST's I've seen in police service.

I'm amazed Honda and Kawi haven't taken the cue from BMW and put together a nice lighting package.

They took their sweet time getting that to market... our local Kawi dealer told us they'd have one to evaluate last year when we were bike shopping, but it never materialized.

The rumor around our department is we may be going to the Honda ST 1300 soon as a replacement for the FLHTPI's we have been on for years.

The reasoning is maintenance costs. Time will tell...

That is not an AZ plate on the bike. The background is Papago Park which is about 5 miles from my house. Maybe some fancy cut n paste to do that? Pics are huge on my laptop for some reason? Nice machine....Phil, my dealer says 3 weeks for the red one to get in. Already got a test ride set up. They said no flogging it...yeah right!!!

The bike has a private, California motorcycle license plate. Wattco is an emergency vehicle equipment supply wholesaler in Cordelia California. That's near Vallejo and Fairfield by I80/I680 in NorCal.

Since there is no mention of Kawasaki in this advertising flyer, it is possible this is a one off, custom prototype conversion by Wattco of a new civilian Concours. If this was a dealer or manufacturer owned prototype, it would have a dealer license plate on it.

Just like I thought, it is a converted civilian bike.

Sorry, we already bought a new '09 FLHP. I am anxious to try it out, it is supposed have a new frame that doesn't wobble at 80mph.

Doesn't wobble...doesn't turn either!

I know but I have no say in which brand of motorcycle is purchased. The captain who signs the purchase order owns a HD. It really boils down to something that simple in which motorcycle to buy..

Good luck with them H/D's Bob... We're riding them also - for now. They're 08's though and not the new design. We'll see what happens when the lease is up.

We have the 09 and no problems so far. One in a pursuit last week at very high speed with no complaints from motor officer. His comment, "very stable."

LAPD is reportedly going to BMWs. Too much down-time on the HDs. Many of the senior LAPD motors have gone back to the remaining KZ1000s they still have in their fleet. The newbies that come out of motor school are going straight to HDs...
