waylap
I'm thinking about taking the kids to the Miami zoo soon and was wondering if anyone has been there done that. Any tips or suggestions on it? Link to comment

Jake
It been a couple of years since I've been to Metrozoo, but here's the conventional wisdom. As an open range zoo, it requires your most comfortable shoes. Get a monorail pass unless hiking all day is part of your agenda, particularly with kids - that way you can zoom over to another area giving yourself a rest in the process. Give yourself time (4+ hours), and it should be pretty enjoyable, particularly this time of year when the weather is excellent. Sometimes the animals don't cooperate as they have room to hide, but mostly you will get your money's worth. Enjoy! Link to comment

wolcott
I've always meant to go; never got around to it. I have always been a little leery of Miami. Been to that little Naples Zoo to see the tigers, and to Lion Country Safari where you drive your car into the big pen with the lions right outside your car. Link to comment
