Winter plumage is not so bold as that displayed in breeding season, but has it's own charms. We have been lucky enough to see some spectacular birds in tropical locales. It's always served to remind me that we have just as much brilliance right here... literally in our backyard. I'll put the American Robin up against any bird, anywhere, anytime. Link to comment
