Effervescent
My work sends me to parts of the world no one seems to want to go to. lol Anywho, I'll likely be in Toledo 2 days next week. With one free night/early morning. Any suggestions of must-do things in Toledo, OH? I love swing/jazz, motorcycles, interesting history kinda stuff. Oh, and food. Got a must do food spot? Drinking establishment? Whatcha got, Fellas? -Eff Link to comment
David
Drive up to Greenfield Village. It's a really interesting place: http://www.hfmgv.org/village/index.aspx Or to Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: http://www.rockhall.com Link to comment
skyking
Toledo happens to be my hometown. If you like Hungarian food, hit Tony Packos Cafe. The original one is at the corner of Front and Consaul. Link to comment

Deltamark
A decent downtown jazz club: http://www.murphysplacejazz.com/ I haven't been to this restaurant yet, but I hear its very good and its also downtown: http://www.georgiostoledo.com/reviews.html Historical Fort Meigs (About 20 minutes from downtown) - http://www.fortmeigs.org/index.html (If it were riding season, Rt. 65 next to Fort Meigs and along the Maumee River is about the nicest ride in the area!) There's also a monument to the Battle of Fallen Timbers not far from there: http://www.fallentimbersbattlefield.com/index.asp And if you're in the mood for real informal atmosphere, great pizza and some drinks, head to the Village Idiot, just down the street from Fort Meigs. Good music, some interesting characters and almost always fun! - http://www.villageidiotmaumee.com/ Enjoy! Effervescent
Thanks a lot, Fellas. So the trip was cancelled due to big snow. I'm off to Toledo this week with 63 degree highs on Tuesday. I win! -Eff Link to comment

Effervescent
Woah. That's not good. I actually saw bad @ss Dodge Chargers left and right. Thankfully, they didn't look back. Plus where I come from (NYC), if you pack heat you go to jail. lol You're a good guy, Casticus. Wish we lived closer. There's a GS Adv waiting for you next time you're near NYC. -Eff Link to comment
Effervescent
Well, Toledo ended up being more work than play...despite the 73 degree yesterday! Here's what I hit up: * Greasy George's Chili Dogs: my suit and tie didn't fit in there but it was a good use of $1.50. Also, the men's room there doesn't have a lock on the door! :O * Navy Bistro at The Docks...for escargots and a Basil Hayden's Manhattan! Then enjoyed a Partagas No.4 along the waterfront during Monday's sunset. Nice! * Giorgio's for lunch. Mmm..lamb shanks. Waiters in tuxedos :O * The Park Inn offers a decent room for $89. This ain't no Manhattan pricing! Overall, Toledo has a lovely sunset, has cheap gasoline, and from what I hear a great Museum. I'll hit up jazz, Hungarian food and Route 65's drive next time. Thanks all! -Eff Link to comment
