simon999 Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 Hello, just seen some garmin streetpilot 2720 advertised on ''flea bay'' from a garmin dealer in the US. Factory reconditioned with all current maps on DVD ( incl Europe ) for $119 ( approx £87 ) ....the problem is the UK customs duty.... Any one purchased one from the US and if so what duty did you pay?? Ideally it would be better if someone brought me one as a ''gift'' from their hols?? or if they are a US service personnel ( I have a large US base near where I work )!! ANYONE PLANNING A VISIT TO NORTHERN UK FROM USA??????? I know It sounds dodgy but I am sick of getting ripped off in the UK and even more tired of Gordon going on about credit crunch etc - so why wont THE UK TAX MAN relax the duty on imported personal goods??? Garmin 2720 reconditioned and supplied by UK dealers are £500 to £700 !!! advice appreciated simon Link to comment
