Water bottle mount for RT bars?

I'd like to put a water bottle between the bars of my RT. A drop in mount similar to that you would find in a bicycle. I don't like it in my tank bag, and I keep looking in between the bars thinking it's the perfect spot. Anyone ever seen one there?

I put one of those bicycle type water bottle holders on the left side of my tank bag, on the outside. It's great, I can drink and drive!!! (water, or course!). With a sandwich inside the tank bag, I can have lunch while traveling.

It isn't very pretty, and I get some ribbing from the HD and GL guys, but I smile as I have a drink of water while traveling, while they watch enviously.

I have a 0.5L bottle that slides into an insulated jacket. This lies on it's side in the angle between the LHS fairing and the dashboard and is well clear of the handlebars. The case has a small webbing loop on the side so for security I just cable tie it to a convenient point just under the fairing. Can be used "as is" on the move or with a drinking tube pushed over the top

Kevin, shouldn’t be a problem.. Just Google "RAM mounts" then look through the many pages of mount balls,, arms,, & cup holders to find a RAM set up that fits or will hold your water bottle.. I had a RAM mounted coffee cup holder on my 1150 using the RAM ball & related pieces & it worked out nicely..

The RAM 272 (9mm) ball mount (shown in picture below) works great on the handlebar attaching bolt but needs a longer attaching bolt & short spacer..

Some of these links here might help you..

I use a drinking tube kit. I just buy a bottle of water, screw the tube onto the bottle, throw the bottle in the tank bag, and run the tube out for sipping. Works like a camelback without the need to fill one. Just buy the bottles of water.

If you're using the stock BMW RT tank bag, here's a little trick I discovered. Most water bottles fit pretty well right down into the carry handle at the top of the bag (the handle is at the windshield end of the bag when it's mounted).

I've wanted to mount a drink holder to my bars to hold my Starbucks in the morning. Problem is, I'm not sure how I can actually drink it with a full face helmet.

Yes, the only way I can get my coffee with a full face on or even with a flip helmet at 90mph.. .. Actually the ice mocha is very good through a straw..

Thanks for all the suggestions. I didn't even think about RAM, that looks like it will work perfectly.

I wear a modular helmet, and plan to drink at stops when there isn't traffic around. I ride a lot of rural stuff, and there is plenty of opportunity to grab a drink, it's just easier to pull things out of a holder instead of a bag. I have a camel back, but I don't like the way it feels or the nice shot of warm water on a hot day from the stuff that sits in the tube.
