AZgman
I am a big fan of the Diners, drive-ins and dives show with Guy Fieri, [ http://www.foodnetwork.com/diners-drive-ins-and-dives/index.html ], so I have mapped all of the joints he has visited into a Garmin GPS file. Now you can get a great bite to eat when you are on the road... 4207.zip Link to comment
cali_beemer
I will definately have to add this to the 2730. Where did you find all the data to add? MY wife and I were looking for this info one day. Link to comment

elkroeger
Right on! that's exactly what I needed. thanks! I will vouch for Voula's in Seattle. I've been getting my fix in there for about 17 years. Link to comment
skinny_tom (aka boney)
It's already in the Garmin. Thanks! Link to comment
cali_beemer
You rock BMW freak. This os the one thing I wanted to add to the GPS. I am going to do a triple D ride sometime and this is perfect. Link to comment
hopz
Hey phreak, thats some good work. Just a hint for the Zumo guys... The file he attached is a *.gdb file. It opens fine in Mapsource, but the POI Loader does not see it. Here is the fix: Load it into mapsource, and save it as a *.gpx file. Then the POI Loader will be happy and load it right in. Enjoy. Perhaps phreak will be able to keep the file updated.... hint-hint. Buy you a beer at the next Torrey? Thanks again. Link to comment
Deadboy
Voula's is the best...I think I have also been a customer for the past 2 decades by now....remember when it was only the front section and you could still smoke there? I visit their every time I am in Seattle (moved away 9 years ago) and the staff still remember me... Link to comment
hopz
Update to my previous posts on keeping DDD POI files up to date. There is a dude over on Zumo Forums who has a *.gpx DDD file current through the 1/20/09 shows... look here: http://www.zumoforums.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;id=40 Link to comment
AZgman
Wow! I've been topped! Here is a ZIP file with both .GDB and .GPX versions along with a few more NE favorites thrown in! 4209.zip Link to comment
hopz
We can keep updating the file by sending you our recommendations! You will be famous! As it has been said, No good deed goes unpunished! Thanks again for your original DDD file. Just imagine, planning routes by places to eat instead of road intersections or things to see. Sounds like a plan. FWIW for those who like this sort of thing here is a link to Road Trip America. These two guys started a cross country trip back in the mid 90's... Good guys. They visited us and did an interview when we lived in Houston. Since then they have found a way to turn their passion into a living. Enjoy: http://www.roadtripamerica.com/ Link to comment
cali_beemer
I love the triple D show. When I told my wife last night about the garmin files for the GPS, she told me I was a geek. Well, I cant argue. She told me to never tell anyone in public about the new files. I guess shes afraid I am going to be recognized as freak. Ohhh well, too late. Link to comment
bigfoot83
Hi all, I haven't downloaded the files listed here, but wanted to make everyone aware of POI Factory (no affiliation) if you don't already visit. The link points to the DDD thread over there. I've loaded a number of other files from the site including official and independent BMW moto dealers and highway rest stops. Nice source that tries to keep things up-to-date! Dave Link to comment

cali_beemer
Yeah, but my files were made with LOVE! and they are already downloaded, that makes them better IMO. Link to comment
Pennys Dad
I think Guy is mostly ok, I have tried 1 spot that he said was GREAT! and they where pooooo! So I am reserving judgment until i try a few more. Link to comment

So I am reserving judgment until i try a few more. This is my biggest issue with the show. You will never see him at a restraunt and see him gag saying the food tastes like crap. It seems like everything is bannanas, off the hook or money as he would call it. Just once I would like to see him choke and say something like, "people pay you for this?" or "what the hell is this crap" or "this tastes like the bottom of a shoe"... I mean they cant all be that great. Link to comment
AZgman
I guess one man's "money" is another man's "poo"! I too would like to see a few negative comments, but I'm guessing the show's lawyers wouldn't like that... Link to comment
hopz
If you want negative (realistic) comment, perhaps those of us who are local to places he visits could tell our own experiences... Sort of the DDD Truth Squad. Link to comment
AZgman
That works for me! I can then change the icon for the "poo" places! Link to comment
AdventurePoser
We too are huge fans of the show, and actively seek these places out when traveling. Only a couple of the places have disappointed us... Thanks for the download... Cheers, Steve Link to comment
AZgman
Please let me know your reviews of places you have visited on the list. I will adjust the file to use different icons for good vs bad... Link to comment

I will adjust the file to use different icons for good vs bad... Thats a bit tough since one mans poo poo is another mans lobster. well, not quite but you know where i was going with that. Plus some people bomb a place off of service/atmosphere and may not reflect the food. Maybe the site admin can add a road food ctaegory to post in. I am always looking for new road food places when on the bike. We can add the info in gps format to be downladed for each place. Link to comment
HappyMan
I've a soft spot for drive ins. I meat my wife and asked her out that same night twenty five years ago. A&W Root Beer has been on my list of favorites ever since! Link to comment
MikeB60
I've eaten at the Mad Greek in Baker many times, we drove our HMMWV's there when I was stationed at Fort Irwin. Gyro's were OK and they had something like 25 flavors of milkshakes if I remember correctly. We really didn't go there for the food, its a nice HMMWV drive over the mountains down into the Death Valley area and the AC was great on those 115 degree days. Certainly better that the Bun Boy that is across the street. Link to comment

Hmmm...expensive milkshakes in the middle of a blast-furnace desert. What a shocker... Cheers, Steve in So Cal Link to comment
