Nice n Easy Rider
Has anyone seen this movie?. It was made a few years ago and stars Anthony Hopkins. I don't think it did much at the box office. A friend of mine in the UK liked it a lot and he doesn't even ride. The YouTube trailer looks pretty good. Any endorsements or pans? Link to comment
Joel
Definitely worthwhile, IMO. Dunno if it is actually true to Munro's biography, but it is entertaining, and Hopkins does his usual excellent job of playing a quirky character. Link to comment
Boone60
Watch it, even with some non-riding friends. Link to comment
Matts_12GS
Watch it, even with some non-riding friends. I think ESPECIALLY with non riding friends. We had some friends who only think of bikes because of a few of us that ride and they were really captured by the spirit of it and of the whole riding experience. They may never take an MSF class or swing a leg over a bike, but they "get it" much better now. Link to comment
thencamebronson
I think it won an award: BEST MOVIE EVER!!!! Link to comment
Ken H.
Yes, have it on DVD, I think it’s great. It’s as much (maybe more so) a human interest story about following a life dream and perseverance, as it is a motorcycling story. Link to comment
Hoover
 This is a really good movie. Try it, you will like it. Link to comment

Tony_K
If this isn't an endorsement, I don't know what what would be. I watched it by myself one night a while back before Lori got home. When she got home I ran to her all wild eyed and said, "you've got to watch this movie with me!!!" Even though I had just seen it minutes eariler we watched it together and it pulled all the same emotions again. She loved it! That, my friend, is a good movie! Link to comment
stubble!
I found it quite enjoyable. (Back when we had time to watch movies. I miss movies! Now it's Toddler-vision instead of TV, all day, all night!) Link to comment
Boffin
I have just finished watching it again on the telly. Great movie. Andy Link to comment
OoPEZoO
Great movie. I bought it last month from a clearance rack. I think it was one of the most enjoyable movies I've ever watched. I have since pawned it onto my Dad to give him a shot at watching it. Link to comment

bakerzdosen
Well, at the risk of either being the first Mod to get banned or being forced to move to Greenland... I personally wasn't able to sit through it. It's come on HDNet Movies a few times, and one time I scheduled the time to sit there and watch it (yeah, I could have just hit "record" on the DVR...) since everyone seemingly loves it. Suffice it to say, I fell asleep before he made it out of Hollywood. Since then, I've tried - I really have - to watch it and it just doesn't hold my interest. I guess the last 20 minutes or so were interesting, but it seemed a large price to pay to get to that point. (Yes, I'm sure there's some member in Greenland who is offended by the remark... So, I'll just apologize now. ) Link to comment
Steve1962
Watched it again last night , Munro was a true free spirit . http://www.indianmotorbikes.com/features/munro/munro.htm Ace stuff Steve Link to comment
Deadboy
Be sure to watch the DVD bonus feature "Burt Munro: Offerings to the Gods of Speed"which is about 20 minutes long and features the real Burt Munro....the movie is that much better when you realize how true to the real guy the character Hopkin's plays really is... Fajah
One of the videos you should own. I recommend to anyone, like others have said, as much a movie about the human spirit as it is about motorcycle history. Not to mention you will find new pedicure ideas also.;> Link to comment
fatboyjim
One of my favourite lines "it's a good job I think you're a lady!" Me and the daughter watched it yesterday. She'd never seen it before and has now swipped the DVD. Jim Link to comment
Sp8er8er
Fascinating to watch a guy cast his own pistons in his garage. Bob's yer Uncle! Link to comment
snod
I watched WFI again last week on one of the cable channels. Great movie! I picked up something this time through that I hadn't noticed before. One of the characters that helps Burt out at Bonneville is Rollie Free. While shoe polishing his tires, Burt mentions that Rollie set him up with a hotel room in Wendover. Rollie Free is the guy famous for riding a Vincent to a world land speed record in swimming trunks. Picture Link He is the big guy smoking cigars with a cowboy hat in several of the scenes. Wonder if Rollie Free really smoked cigars? Link to comment
StuGotz
Don't really know if he actually smoked cigars, but try this one on for size: http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/video_player.shtml?vid=231728 MB> Link to comment
Boffin
Fascinating to watch a guy cast his own pistons in his garage. Bob's yer Uncle! Not only did Burt cast his own pistons, using a mix of different car pistons as source metal, he also carved his own conrods from truck driveshafts. On one occasion, he made a new cylinder liner from a drain pipe pinched from the side of his motel. I strongly reccomend finding a copy of his biography - a fascinating read. Andy Link to comment
Scarecrow
One of my favorites... I snuck it onto my Netflix list and when it showed up my wife was really skeptical about it (she's a non-rider). But she thoroughly enjoyed the movie, appreciating the character. I've yet to see it on TV but keep hoping it will show up. Link to comment
