Interchangeable parts on old/new series K12RS

This is my first post here. I'm a K12 rider and have an early K-bike with about 65k. I'm about to buy an '04 model with stock suspension, no bags. Can anyone tell me if the bags from the older version are the same as the newer version––or will they fit even if not identical? And will my Ohlins shocks swap straight over to the newer one as well?

Thanks,

John

Well, I was about to definitively state that BMW made no significant changes to those components of the K12RS during its lifetime. However, I gather there were some changes. Ohlins lists the same rear shock specs, but slightly different front shock specs. I had no idea. The difference appears to be 1 millimeter; I don't know if that's significant enough to worry about or not. There will be some slight differences in installation procedure up front, because of the brake line changes, as well.

Bags should work just fine.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think that 1mm length will make any difference. I had to grind about 2mm the width of the lower knuckle to get it to fit through the arm, so they aren't that precise. And they are adjustable. Glad to hear that it's going to be that easy to switch things over.
