Tony_K
Last week I had a dream that I was in my house and it over looked the city of L.A. I was looking out the window and to my horror I saw several mushroom clouds over the vastness of the city! I ran and got Lori and said it finally happened... Then I woke up. The other night I drempt that I was in a gun battle not unlike what one would see in movies. Shots ringing out all around me and of course, I am the only target for the villians! Then I woke up. LAST NIGHT. I drempt that I was on the RT running errends. I saw myself on the freeway with other bikes, Stopping to purchase socks, visiting a friends house and talking with him as well as his parents and even the family dog was playing with me. I said my good byes as I headed back to the bike I needed to adjust a loose bag or something which brought me down by the rear wheel. I spotted a glossy liquid sheen on and around the brake rotor then when I touched the wheel a flood of gear fluid came out as the wheel virtually disjointed from its final drive moorings! The dog was running around me trying to taste the fluid on the ground and I just felt like crap. Then I woke up! What a very strange sequence of resent dreams cumulating in what has been for many, a real nightmare. I really, really hope the other two dreams never happen... Link to comment
Dave McReynolds
Anxiety and disaster? I wonder why anyone would have dreams about anxiety and disaster these days.... Doesn't mean your dreams are going to happen; just means you are picking up on the feelings of a lot of people all around you (or maybe acting out some of your own feelings in your dreams). Dances_With_Wiener_Dogs
Buying socks? Now that's peculiar. Do you normally remember your dreams? Link to comment
Tony_K
I do recall all dreams right before awaking in the morning so technically they are morningmares. Socks. I just went and restocked my entire supply of socks and in the dream I was getting even more! Dave, Yeah I have been mulling over world events. I tend to venture outside of US events too and actually watch global events. Not always a good stress reducer. Plus I am currently remodeling our kitchen, by myself. Not just paint but a full blown walls off type deal installing new electrical to the service box as well as repipe add to that new flooring... by myself. Yeah. Stress, it's awesome! Link to comment

AZKomet
Hmmm....well I often have dreams of being married to more than one woman at a time.......that in itself is pretty frightening! I have a hard enough time hiding my new watches, gadgets, guns and other items of interest from one...compounding that would be a nightmare! Link to comment
Calvin (no socks)
Severe case of "video game delayed stress syndrome"... except for the socks...can't explain the re-stocking stocking phenomenon. As for me, I forget to pack them! Link to comment
Paul_Burkett
Tony, have you been watching re-runs of 24? You may be playing the part of Jack Bauer in your dreams, which means that you will get hurt but never mortally, and that's a good thing. If there is an Aston Martin involved .... then you are "Bond" and I think that you may not want tell your wife, Bond plays around, you know.... (wink wink) Link to comment

Red
Some of the latest research indicates dreams are just stuff in your short term memory that gets accessed and is replaying in no coherent manner with no particular meaning. Sorta like surfing the TV channels for a night then trying to make a movie out of the 46 bits of programs you watched. Link to comment
pbharvey
Do you think that the people you see in your dreams are real people that you've seen at one time or another in your life or does the human mind have the ability to "create" a person in your dreams? Link to comment

Tony_K
I know in my dreams there are defined actors often people I know. Sometimes those people shift bodies to suit situations in the same dream. Then there are undefined actors often faceless, masked or blurred. Much like the plot to first person shooter video games mentioned above is where my undefined figures show up. I often need to defend myself against them usually bare handed. I also enjoy extending my dreams by being somewhat cognizant that they are dreams since all the ones I recall best are prior to awakening for the day. I stay asleep just a bit longer to see where things will go. Sometimes I shouldn't... Link to comment
DaveTheAffable
I was having dreams... One night I dreamed I was a Wig-Wam, the next night... a Tee-Pee. I thought it was because I have an Indian heritage. (I really do, by the way) My doctor says I'm just too tents. (sorry... I couldn't help myself... ) Link to comment

Joe Frickin' Friday
Some of the latest research indicates dreams are just stuff in your short term memory that gets accessed and is replaying in no coherent manner with no particular meaning. Sorta like surfing the TV channels for a night then trying to make a movie out of the 46 bits of programs you watched. Seems to make sense. I've had unpleasant dreams that involved stuff that was on my mind the previous evening. It's pretty rare that I have nightmares at all. Here's three that I can remember from the past twenty years: One night I was studying for the final exam in a nuclear engineering course. The semester had gone badly for pretty much everyone in the class including me; the instructor threw us a lifeline, declaring that he would take our final exam grade as the grade for the whole course. So of course we studied like mad. I finally understood the material pretty well by the time I went to bed, but I was a bit tense. That night while I slept, my brain took info from nuclear engineering and combined it with info from a heat transfer class I had had not too long before - and I found myself in a nightmare, being handed a final exam that was absolutely impossible. Major sense of impending doom/panic, not good. A few years after I got my RT I was on a trip. Don't know why, but I had a dream one night that the bike was overheating and I couldn't shut it off, no matter what I did; my new gem of a ride was destroying itself, and there was nothing I could do. A few years ago I watched The Devil's Advocate. Horror movies generally don't freak me out, but the demonic faces they depicted in that movie resonated with something in my psyche, and I ended up having some scary-ass nightmares about them that night. Weird. Link to comment
Wooster
Last night I dreamt of Sarah Palin !!! After riding my beemer thru a police road block (got waved thru even though the handle bars weren't connected to the front fork !), I found myself in a large room, w/o walls, perched on steep hill side getting treasure hunt instruction where the treasure was Sarah. My team consisted of three people, me, some one else and blonde Sarah Palin. Just before waking (run swiftly horses of the night), I realized the treasure (Sarah the brunette) was actually on my team with hair dye. Man, I need a date ! Wooster Link to comment
BeniciaRT_GT
So I read this about 30 minutes ago, (and yes Wooster, you really, really, need a date) across the screen on the bottom of the morning news: "Report from bipartisan committee due out tomorrow says U.S. should expect terrorist attack using nuclear or biological weapons within 5 years" (Why this isn't worthy of actually speaking about it as a headline, I'm not quite sure.) So maybe your psychic, and not a dreamer at all. Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
Tony you're okay. Wooster needs help! To this day I still have a bad dream of not having completed a term paper for a research methods course. Wake up feeling odd I do. The nightmare is being held captive with arms tied behind my back and legs and mouth bound in a hot dirty two room hut and smelly people wearing strange clothes are speaking a foreign language all around me. Now that one freaks me out. Link to comment
