MChick
OK, at 27,000 miles, one of my headlights finally went away. Rather than paying BMW lots of $$ for their branded bulbs, what aftermarket bulb do I use in the ST? The maintenance manual call for H4 55w for the low beam, and H4 60W for the high beam. Are these available aftermarket? Link to comment

MChick
Yeah, a little over 200 miles, up to Legget, down hwy 1 to Mendocino, then Comptche Rd. back home to Navarro. Lots of twisties to make sure the bulbs are in correctly, too. Link to comment
rideaway
Powerbulbs.com............ Philips X-Treme Power H4, great bulbs, much brighter. I just installed the H7's. Link to comment
mistercindy
I've found the stock bulbs at the BMW dealership to be either the standard issue Sylvania or Phllips at so near the same price as an auto parts store that its not worth the difference to go one place over another. There are three auto parts stores near my home so that's where I go. Link to comment
Albert
Also consider this if you're thinking of the "super", "ultra", whatever bulbs. I bought a set of Sylvania's that were top of the line (and priced that way). They appeared nice and bright at mile 0. At around mile 2000, then 3000, they were very very dark (as in burned out). Brightness can affect longevity. Link to comment
