jakfrost
Just wondering if anyone is using MapSource on their Mac and happy with the solution software Garmin is supplying... I tried a few months ago and it wasn't great. I need to do a clean 're-install' on my Mac Air and was hoping to not have to do the WinXP install as well, just to be able to do route planning from the Air while on the road...its a PITA to have to use bootcamp or VMWare, taking so much of the already limited resources of my little Air just to run one application, i.e. MapSource... bgf50
I believe its called Bobcat for the mac. I've used it a few times and thought it worked pretty well. I don't have any experience with mapsource as I've never owned anything but macs so I can't compare the two. Bill 07R1200RT Link to comment
JR356
Hi, Bobcat was the development version, the release version is called Roadtrip and is available as free download from Garmin. Roadtrip and several other useful/needed downloads here: http://www8.garmin.com/macosx/index.jsp JR356 Link to comment
jakfrost
Hi JR356...(no name??), thanks for the info and the link...I had 'Bobcat' a few months ago and it was woefully lacking, compared to Mapsource. I converted, migrated and installed all my Maps from the PC side of my Mac last nite. Then downloaded 'Roadtrip' and got everything running OK. However it is still a poor cousin to the PC version...but perhaps with time and upgrades it will become more functional, ( as I age and go the other way :-) Jim Link to comment
