Any R1200STs with Laminar Lips?

Does anyone have any experience of fitting a Laminar Lip [Laminar Lip ST photo] to an ST?

I'm 5'11" and find the standard screen relatively quiet in the lowest position and more protective but noisy in the highest. It would be nice to have a bit more protection without being buffeted by noisy, turbulent air. I'm not particularly taken with the look of the larger replacement screens that I've seen and the Laminar Lip seems that it might be what I am looking for.

MRA in Germany manufacture something similar, but they don't seem to produce one of their varioscreens for the ST.

Thanks for any input.

Can't help you with laminar lip shields, but I bought a Cee Bailey shield for the R12ST ( Linky ) that I like a lot for winter/fall riding. I'm 5'9" and this size works very well for me.

The screen is low enough not to look too dorky, at least for me, eliminates buffeting, and seems to give me better gas mileage into the bargain.

Which one did you get? 12.5" or 11"?

+3 on the cee baileys. I got a great deal on e-bay. I think brand new it was $50. They are blemished, but you wouldn't know it. I think the seller is racer35 or someting like that. I think i have the taller one and although there is a little buffeting, it's great for the winter months in Massachusetts. In the spring i'll put the stock one back on.

I have a Laminar Lip fitted to my ST.I fitted it back in 2006 and have never been without it. I also bought a Parabellum screen but in the end of the day did not like being behind a taller screen on what is a Sports Bike! Whilst the taller Parabellum type screen takes you out of the airflow I just found it changed the whole characteristics of the bike may as well have bought an RT!! :/

I generally keep stock screen in lower position with the Lip fitted. You are not going to get rid of all of the buffeting and on this side of the Atlantic you will get airflow to Helmet to help clear away the rain, especially the soft Irish rain which is more like a mist. I have toured extensively on Continent and always have lip fitted.

If you like to ride "Sporty" then you wont go far wrong with the Lip as a compromise.

Oh and by the way I am same height as you and keep stock bars in top position -

Because I have been suffering from a severe dry eye condition, I am extremely sensitive to air flow- even with full face helmet and special glasses... I am using the parabellum. It looks ...well... not what I prefer, but it gets the job done, and it is a bit cold in NJ... Maybe one day the smoke color original size screen will be back on...
