Matts_12GS Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise....
OoPEZoO Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I hope the announcement comes soon......this could get ugly

OoPEZoO Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 It will definitely be in New England and in 2009! Happy now? Not really........but then again, I've been told I'm part of this "instant gratification" generation. I want to know who, what, when, where, and I want to know it NOW!
ltljohn Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 It's kind of like kids at Christmas, can't wait to see what they got.
OoPEZoO Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 It's kind of like kids at Christmas, can't wait to see what they got. Or can't wait to see what they are going to miss because they haven't been working long enough to accumulate the proper amount of vacation time...... Either way, I'll be there
Calvin (no socks) Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I am planning next year at work... The official calendar for everyone.... I'm just saying.... it would be nice to know the month..... or something...
Fightingpiper Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I am planning next year at work... The official calendar for everyone.... I'm just saying.... it would be nice to know the month..... or something... From Mamma Hoon in the 2nd post of this thread... "It will take place in the Northeast and the dates will be August 10-13, 2009. We're putting this out now so that you can start planning to make it to what promises to be another fantastic edition of our annual BMWST.com gathering." and also the 3rd post in the thread... "Mark, I said I was IN but I have no idea of: Where is it? Somewhere in New Hampshire I was informed but I wish I knew where. When is it? August 10-13, 2009 Maybe someone can repost the information."
Huzband Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Look you guys. If I can plan a 50CC & make the Un less than a week prior, you can hold your water for a few more weeks. Keep yer pants on, there's plenty of time.
Matts_12GS Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Look you guys. If I can plan a 50CC & make the Un less than a week prior, you can hold your water for a few more weeks. Keep yer pants on, there's plenty of time. He's right, and he spent 5 of the 7 nights of that week he planned in the probably inn too!
CT_Rider Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 [ I've been told I'm part of this "instant gratification" generation. I want to know who, what, when, where, and I want to know it NOW! Don't hold your breath, keith. These guys don't budge.
OoPEZoO Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I am planning next year at work... The official calendar for everyone.... I'm just saying.... it would be nice to know the month..... or something... Oh please.......like you need details. Your just going to roll in late under the cover of darkness, bum a couple of beers off the unsuspecting, and then disappear before breakfast BTW......Happy Birthday
tallman Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 New Hampshire is a big place. Wouldn't want to get lost.
Calvin (no socks) Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Sorry that you found out my true purpose in life... note to self:....dont speak to strange strangers with rubber chickens....
Kitsap Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 We thinking about a Pied Piper Run for us westerners? I'm strongly leaning towards attending. How many days would we be looking at from SLC at semi legal speeds?
flyingreg Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Hey, lookie there who's got a birthday! Happy Birthday Calvin!
flyingreg Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 We thinking about a Pied Piper Run for us westerners? I'm strongly leaning towards attending. How many days would we be looking at from SLC at semi legal speeds? At legal speeds, you can make NH in three days from SLC. Of course, routing will determine the time needed. A small tour of some of the US enroute could play havoc on an ETA. Avoiding the interstate, your looking at roughly 2600 mi.
OoPEZoO Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Sorry that you found out my true purpose in life... note to self:....dont speak to strange strangers with rubber chickens.... Hope to see you there......I'll buy ya a beer
Matts_12GS Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Hope to see you there......I'll buy ya a beer If you do that, you'll just encourage more of this behavior! I'll get the second round
ltljohn Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I've been speculating as to where in NH this will be and looking at routes. So far the longest from home is about 480 miles with no slab involved.
marcopolo Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 We thinking about a Pied Piper Run for us westerners? I'm strongly leaning towards attending. How many days would we be looking at from SLC at semi legal speeds? But don't you live in Washington? At the risk of stating the obvious, the time really depends on: 1) whether you want to make time by slabbing it. 2) the miles per day you're comfortable riding?
SAMSAR Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 And the UNrally 2009 location IS..... COMING SOON!!! Everything is pretty much all ready to go except I'm overseas right now with little access to the internet. I'll be home Sunday evening and have one final coordination activity with Leslie beforehand. Let the speculation continue!...
ltljohn Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 While waiting to find out exactly where it is, here are a few things to do in the area. MT Washington Auto Road Cog Railway World Traveler Sign Scenic Mountain Ride

At the risk of stating the obvious, the time really depends on: 1) whether you want to make time by slabbing it. 2) the miles per day you're comfortable riding? I figure if I start in SLC maybe Twisties & Bullett will tag along. For multiple day trips I like to keep the mileage under 700. A 1000 is not out of the question if the destination is within reach.
