Someone was discussing lights on the forum earlier this week and I learned that I could shut off my headlight by pressing the turn cancel button for 4 seconds followed by the right turn signal button for 4 seconds. Awesome I couldn't wait to try it....it works

 

Now the question; do you guys know of any other little tricks like this? Seems that stuff like that should be part of a sticky at the top of the hexhead page

How do you turn the headlight back on?? Just in case I want to try turning it off.................... Love to hear of the other secret codes, too!!

I tried it also, and it worked. I had to shut off the engine to get the lights back on again....

You can toggle the high beam switch and it'll come back on.

I think that it depends on the model year. I stand to be corrected, but I think it's something like the '05s and '06s must be "re-booted" before the lights will come back on, but with the '07s and '08s the lights will come back on by toggling the high beam switch.

You are correct, sir. Bumping the high beam switch refires the head light on my '08.
