Artee
I thought I read somewhere that there was a special procedure to go through prior to removing the battery on an '06 RT? Is that true? Link to comment

Artee, not removing the battery,, but there is after re-installing it.. After the battery is re-installed & hooked up __ -turn key on (do not start) -open & close throttle fully twice Then you have re-taught the TPS the full throttle travel with low & high parameters learned.. ScottT
From the maintenance manual which I was silly enough to actually go purchase. Removal: Attention Nature: Disconnection in the wrong sequence increases the risk of short-circuits. Avoidance: Always proceed in the correct sequence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Release screw and remove battery retainer. Disconnect the negative lead from the battery's negative terminal. Open protective cap. Disconnect the positive lead from the battery's positive terminal. Remove the battery from its holder. Installation: Attention Nature: Connection in the wrong sequence increases the risk of short-circuits. Avoidance: Always proceed in the correct sequence. Never install the battery without the protective cap. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connect the positive lead to the battery's positive terminal. Install protective cap. Connect the negative lead to the battery's negative terminal, making sure that the connecting cable is routed correctly. Switch on the ignition. Without starting the engine, fully open the throttle once or twice so that the control unit of the BMW engine management system can register the throttle-valve positions. Switch off the ignition. Your 08 should have the TPS learn done after battery re-connect.. Twisty Link to comment
