OlGeezer
...I was able to use regular gas on my ride to Deming and back. 10-1/2 hours San Juan Capo to Deming (including a stop at Denny's in Yuma); 10 hours from Deming to San Juan. On the return ride, I was maintaining a Bun Burner Gold (1,500 miles in 24 hours) pace of 70 mph until I hit a rainstorm in San Diego. This was after riding through a sand storm in in Glamis. I was riding a mudpie. I hate the Interstate. Link to comment

tgregg
I'd forgotten about the Deming Veterans ride. I did that a few times 1999, 2000 and 2001. It was great fun but kind of boring interstate for me to and from. I don't remember how I even knew about it back in those days. Fun looking at the pictures, nothing much has changed. Link to comment

If you allow a little time, there are some wonderful alternatives to the Interstate. For my first BBQ (three years ago), my wife and I turned it into a five day tour of Southeast Arizona including Columbus, Patagonia, Bisbee, Tombstone and other places. I was amazed how interesting Southeast Arizona is and I was shocked particularly considering I grew up not very far away in West Texas. I've managed to do the entire round trip with very little Interstate, but it usually takes me three days to do it right. It could be a little more challenging from NorCal, but your portion of the state was properly represented at the event. I'm pretty impressed by Don Cameron. I saw him in Branson this past April and again in Paonia. He sure isn't slowing down, that's for sure. Also, he as a drop dead gorgeous garage you just wouldn't believe. Link to comment

bendbill
Nice pics of a good-sized gathering. Great looking pair of sidecar rigs, and the red/white/blu RTP was fine. I haven't seen that many Wings in one place since . . . . . . last Sunday at the DQ Link to comment
