StuGotz
Here I am, at home where the weather is normal...no performance awards either. Had it all on the ride home today. Thunder , lightning, rain, hail, snow, rock slides, blowing sand, big wind, and Richard passing me like I was standing still. Couldn't miss the day-glo boy coming up from behind me. Thanks to all, it was great as usual. No pics, so's I guess you don't have to believe any of it. MB> Link to comment

JerryMather
Back in the neighborhood by 1:30 PM. Woke up at 4:30 this morning by the thunder & left as soon as I saw a window open up. Saw a little bit of everything weather wise on the way home, a cool sandstorm & then a rainstorm & finally a windstorm at the end. It was fun last night with you guys, thanks for coming up there. lvnvbiker
Home at 9am, after being rudely awakend by lights and loud noises from the sky at 6am. I had my camp rolled up and on the bike in less than 30 minutes, then spent about 30 more helping others catch thier tents. The dunes caused a whiteout coming out of Stovepipe Wells and most of the ride out of the valley was kneedraggin' while going striaght down the road. Caught hail about Mercury doing around 110, took about a mile to figure out why the rain hurt so bad through my layers... Great putting faces to the names, and my applogies to GL for being a wimp and getting sick mid ride. DVD I'll be better and faster, still camping out though no matter what I just love the out doors in the desert. Besides when you camp you meet some really neat characters, or at least thats what folks say. Link to comment
KMG_365
In at 19:30 hours tonight. Got a late start (shocking, I know) and pushed through the wind, rain and temps in the low 40's for half of it. It looked like the front followed us almost all the way home. As soon as we got out from under it we'd need to stop for food and/or gas and it would catch up. We finally left it going in to Joshua Tree and had a PHENOMENAL ride through J-Tree and especially Box Canyon with the sun going down behind amazing clouds above the mountains to the west and Andreas Scholl singing Bach on XM/VOX. We hit more wind and rain at the top of Montezuma Grade and had a wet ride back down the mountain, but overall it was FABULOUS!! Thanks to all who made the trip and it was great meeting a few newbies, too! I hope I/we can make it in January! Link to comment
glwestcott
In at 5:30 last night. Great ride and enjoyed meeting all of you. It'l be good to put some faces to the posts on the forum. Ride home was an experience - not one I'd like to do everyday, but then again... Link to comment
