Has anyone seen any reviews on the differences between the K1300GT and K1200GT? The K1200GT has .9% financing special... Very tempting...

For whatever it's worth, as of yesterday morning, the dealer in SLC says that the GT's are 0.9 % financing or $3500 discount, your choice. I don't see anything about on BMW's website however.

My '09 K13GT is on order. I am on the referenced site. Same board name (shocker).

We have discussed this a bit here on this board to. Just do a search for K1300GT.

Heard of one 08 going for little over $16,000 fully loaded and with top box thrown in, that is like 5000 off.

Not many changes on the 1300, but also heard the FD is a new design. Course the UJM signals which would suit me fine, some old BMW riders don't want to change however.

Haaaaa, okay, I will give you the change of paint, but I have a decal, windshield, laminar lip on mine, turn signals, I'll trade you, blew the horn today while trying to turn left.

Bet it still feels like an aircraft carrier after riding a Tiger 1050 though, ha.

I couldn't resist the incredible deal on the '08KGT and pulled the trigger today---pick her up next Thursday when I get back in town.

I never get to see another GT, unless I go by the dealership, they have an 08 on the floor.

Flew formation today with a K1200RS then later an orange Road King with cruise control, that was nice (someone could hold a speed for a change).

I am not supposed to tell you this but....... we all got together Friday night after pizza and while we smoking cigars in Silver City and made a pack to ride slower than normal on Saturday. We could sense that your confidence was still smarting from that tumble you took on the FJR some months back. See it worked!!!!!! Your back to being your same old smart ass. Love and kisses.

Am I the last one to notice the new 2009 models? If so, I'll shut up.

If not, anybody interested in a translation of a Dutch magazine article about them?

cant believe what the new 1300 did to the price of the 1200s. My dealer is selling a 2008 K1200R for 10,000., 4000. off list. Ive seen 1200GTs for 3500 off list as well

Concerning upgrades, IMO it's amazing how much the air vents in the fairing sides improves the looks of the bike. Again, IMO the fairing sides of the K1200GT look like 4x8 sheets of plywood. But, by adding the air vents it breaks up the plywood look and I would say it's a dramatic improvement aesthetically. It's a great looking bike, and that red is awesome!

Ok, you fireman and your red stuff! How about a cop graphite or maybe even a stealth black one??? Now those are the colors for me...... :lurk: Keep me posted on yours Phil. If the fd gives out in the first 6k then I am getting a honda GW!!

Oooohhhh, a stealth black, all black K1300GT is sounding sweet..... I want one. Now put the good old BMW turn signals back on instead of those japanese wannabe style signals and were good.

I kind of like the look of this visual upgrade. My daughter liked it, but my wife thought the K was a bit over the top. Is is a little pricy though at $100. Please ignore the girls and focus on the K.

Saturday BMW revealed an aid package of 130 million US for European BMW car dealers that could sell 85-90% of 2008 sales in 2009. I guess those that don't make the 85-90% get squat. BMW car sales are down 26-29% and unsold 2008 inventories are high. All car makers have a tough row to hoe next year.

Which leads me to wonder how long in this economic climate BMW can continue to subsidize the Motorrad, if they do - and I am not sure of this, when it barely sells 100,00 units worldwide and just 13,000 units a year in the US. Many times they have said BMW bikes lend a cachet to BMW cars that no other car builder have and this is intangible is worth some figure to BMW corporate - but how much?

I like the fact I can get most any part from the local (well, 100 miles away) BMW dealer for my 27 year old R100 and usually get it the next day. This supply chain must cost a bundle for a brand that has 1.3% of the US market. I hope for my own sake the subsidy continues but one has to think an extended downturn may cause some rethink in Berlin.

Nice! Looks kind of like a burnt orange, which I happen to like.

Best way to describe the color is that of a Blood Orange with a pearl orange metallic throughout. The color is different depending on the light and the angle. It is truly gorgeous!!!!!!

Wow, nice pictures. I love the color. Its nice to see BMW spicing up the color pallet a bit. BMW has been using boring conservative colors for too long. And when they have stepped out of conservative, its been for the uggliest colors known to mankind. Does anyone remember the mauve K1200LT's? You should, dealrs couldnt sell them and they sat forever. I dont know of a straight man that would be caught dead riding one. Good job BMW!

Mauve K1200LT! The only time BMW placed a special discount for only one special color. At Bob's BMW where I worked we bought a couple and used them to custom paint them to customer's wishes. The other good one was the '88 K100LT that only came in a ugly brown. We called it the UPS truck.

PS The red K1300GT is beauuutiful!

Wow, nice looking GT! You know, being it is sorta a new model and all, you might want to get an experienced GT rider to test ride it for a while and maybe get all the little niggles sorted.

Being you may have snow soon, I will volunteer to do the testing and sorting for you. Just have them ship to SMS in Shreveport.

I can get it sorted and bring it to you in time for the Un-Rally?

I forgot to mention one VERY important piece of information!!!!

The current K1200GT MSRP is $18620. The new K1300GT MSRP is $18800. YEP!!!!!!!!! A whole $200. I was unable to get the pricing for the options available. And this was not hearsay. This was official pricing on the spec sheets.
