Silver Surfer/AKAButters
My bike is running great, however, in the last week or two I noticed that while on high idle for 30 seconds or so, the engine would slow down to around 800RPM for a few seconds and then return to normal high idle. Also, the other day while sitting at a light the idle dropped to around 600RPM and the engine actually died on me twice. Just wondering if this is an obvious sign of something awry or about to go wrong. The plugs have abour 5K on them, and adjusted the valves at about the same time. I've never changed the fuel filter and was wondering of this was an indication that it is time. Thoughts? Rich Link to comment
notacop
Seems unlikely the fuel filter would cause a low RPM problem. A clogged filter would kill you at a higher flow rate. Funky air tubes and rubber things with leaks could be a problem as would valves that don't quite seat. things would search for computer happy. Maybe you haven't hit red line lately and the bike is complaining. Link to comment
