TuxRider
I am interested in converting my Dash-P to a 2-seater. It currently has the cop trunk with a Givi Mono-lock top trunk in the passenger position. Any information/suggestions on path to this goal would be appreciated. Open to ideas regarding feasibility, parts purchasing, trades for my Dash-P parts or any combination thereof. I live in Rathdrum, Idaho which is in the general vicinity of Coeur D'Alene, ID and Spokane, WA. Much thanks. Link to comment
EffBee
We did a couple of these back when I worked for a dealership. Last one was around 2004, and if I recall, the parts alone ran about $1000. If you look, you may be able to find someone who's parting out an 1100 or 1150 (parts should be the same) that has front-end damage. You just want the rear-end stuff. Check the last 30 days worth of ads in the Classified Forum. I thought I remember someone parting out a crashed RT. If you're lucky, you may find a black one so you won't have to repaint. You may be able to pick up all the needed parts for half price or less. Your biggest cost may likely be shipping. Link to comment
upflying
Go to this site and click "spare parts" and "dual seat kit". http://www.bmwmc.net/mc.asp?O=frames The conversion is expensive if you go to the dealer. ebay, Hollywood Motors and Beemerboneyard are good sources for the parts you need. I know a few riders who would give their right arm to have that easy extra secure luggage usage on the back. There must be quite a few of you Stateside folk who would like to do a swop too, aren't there? Andy Link to comment
