JohnBryer
I'm leaving at noon for a long weekend. Spending Friday night in Page, AZ and Saturday near Mesa Verde. Friday is on the slab, then down Hwy 12 near Escalante, then Missing Canyon Road (is that paved??)to Page. (most likely $50 miles) Saturday's plan is through Monument Valley, over to the 4 corners, and to Mesa Verde. (270 miles) Long day of around 500 miles from Mesa Verde up to Grand Junction and home. Anyone interested in joining me? Link to comment
Twisties
Hi John, Was good seeing you at R&R yesterday. Thanks for the invite but I don't think Sharon and I can do it. If you get time to go into Mesa Verde, do it. Weather permitting, from MV to GJ, I recommend either of these two routes: Both, up through Durango and over the passes on US 550 to Ridgway. Then either: 1. CO-141 through Gateway, or 2. CO-92 and CO-65 over Black Canyon and over Grand Mesa. Jan Link to comment

JohnBryer
Weather was looking quite good this weekend, and with winter upon us, it seemed like a great weekend to get out and do some riding. I put a route together using Microsoft Streets & trips. I rode around 1400 miles this weekend Here's what things starting to look like.. This picture was taken off Utah Highway 12 near Grand Escalante Staircase. Highway 12 is supposedly one of the "good" roads to ride in Utah. The scenery was great, but the tar all over the road freaked me out quite a bit. I really wanted to attack some of the corners, but that was not meant to be on this day. I spent Friday night in Page, Arizona...This is Lake Powell area. Very nice place...I'm sure I'll go back. Here are a couple of pictures of the Colorado River and the Dam Leaving Page, next stop was Monument Valley Then a stop at the 4 Corners Saturday ended up being a long day. I thought I'd stop near Mesa Verde National Park, but bad weather conditions in SLC for Sunday made me decide to do 500 miles and get somewhere near Grand Junction...I ended up staying in Fuita, Colorado.. This is the San Miguel Canyon....aka Highway 141 Dinner Saturday night. Somehow I missed the pictures of the Fat Tire beers that went with this. Today's ride was very cold, and very wet. This was the only picture I took today. This was one of the few times it was dry today...along I-70 west of Green River, Utah Link to comment
Twisties
Sweet! Glad you had a nice ride. You're not kidding about the scenery. Jan Link to comment

JohnBryer
It was great. I did wear a frogg toggs jacket over it yesterday. The ride up and over Soldier Summit was slightly unpleasant. I did stay dry though. Link to comment
