snod Posted October 28, 2008 Share Posted October 28, 2008 I am considering mounting a pair of Hella Micro DE HID driving lights under the oil cooler of a R1100RT. I currently have a set of PIAA 1100’s mounted with an Ezy-mount set up. Has any one used the Hella’s in that location? They look to be very close to the PIAA’s in dimension, but do they clear the fender as well as the 1100’s? Anybody have any real world experience with this project? Link to comment
Fugu Posted October 28, 2008 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Seeing as how both of my forks are marked from rubbing the back of the 1100s I have on the same setup, and having never seen micro DEs there, I'm a bit skeptical. I think the projector housing of the micro DE is deeper. Light diameter isn't the only critical dimension. Maybe you can push them forward a bit to accomodate what I think is more depth.
