Redbrick
First, another thanks to Ken for putting together the comprehensive parts list for Hexheads....Printed a copy to carry on the bike....Thanks Ken....... Time to change plugs in my RT and not able to locate the NGK DCPR8EKC or Bosch YR5LDE's in the catalogue's at 2 auto supply houses or at a local non-BMW/Everything else bike dealer...Also tried Cycle Gear and they didn't have them listed... A friend of mine has looked on the web and can't find those plugs listed either.....Anybody know if it's true that those plugs can only be purchased at BMW dealers and probably about $20 a pop?...I am jumping the gun a little here as I will try an independent shop in the morning that does some BMW work and see if he has them.... Just thought I'd see if anybody has the inside scoop here... Link to comment
keithb
Phil I am running NGK DCPR8EIX,6546 plugs in Ruby. I found these on eBay for $7 a plug almost 2 years ago. Link to comment
Tony_K
You can use (NGK)Denso IXU24 or IXU22 Link to comment
Redbrick
Thanks Keith.....I've seen that plug mentioned before and it is the same part number that Ken lists as a Denso, single electrode Iridium...Are NGK and Denso part of the same company I wonder?..... Edited.......I guess so according to Tony's post above.. Link to comment
Tony_K
Denso is its own company I was just using the NGK number to cross reference. Sorry about any confusion. Link to comment
keithb
I cannot comment on the sameness but I have been using these plugs for 14K miles with no problem at all. Link to comment
Dick_at_Lake_Tahoe_NV
Go to this site and search for IXU22, that's what I use in my R1200RT. Works well. This site has them for $9.50 each, free shipping. http://www.optionsauto.com/searchprods.asp Link to comment
Mudman
Phil, I think you can do alot better than $20 a pop on the OEM Plugs. Beemer Boneyard has them for $42.95 for four. http://www.beemerboneyard.com/12127677560.html Link to comment
