Armond, if you go what time would you be leaving? I might join you

Ray

Well, if they are meeting there around 9AM, I think we would need to leave by 7:45 or so. I probably won't know until Sat evening, after getting back from the Uconn game.

Armando -

Might not be a bad ride - maybe take 44 to 169 out there and then on the way back go up 169 to 197 in Woodstock, cut across to 190 and follow that all the way to 159 in Suffield and then back to town via 75, 168, etc.

Let me check with the Pentagon to see if I'll be able to break loose Sunday morning for this.

I go out there often. Best chili around, for sure! There is a good winery about 8 miles south on 97 (Sharpe Hill) that has beautiful outdoor seats where you can hang out and taste local wines.

I may be able to swing it. I'm on call at St. Francis Hospital (west end of Hartford) from Saturday 0600 until Sunday around 0900. If you locals want to swing by the hospital and pick me up, I'll ride into work Saturday AM and be ready to leave Sunday AM with y'all...

Any takers?

Edit: I definitely can't be at t he VBC at 0900. I can be late though!

I hope at least some of you guys can make it. I'll most likely ride the 4 miles directly from my house in order to be there early to take pictures and hopefully go for a ride on the way out of there.

A wee bit too far for me to make it when the deer are starting to rut and early am. I think I am going to err on the side of caution and pass on this one guys. Be safe and careful. Enjoy the ride.

A bridge too far now, but was always a favorite YB event. Like "a happening" early a few bikes drible in, cold riders (non-electric) stiffly get off and stamp around, then a few more and then a gaggle, a murder, a pod, and the lot is full. Shared tables are groaning from the weight of eggy things and mugs. Chairs groaning from the old jokes and new top speed lies. Then all of a sudden amid the distant sound of approaching poseurs its over............

Sandy - when would "over" usually be? If we wander up about 10 (with Dr Zep) would we be surrounded by kinfolk or the weekend frou-frou crowd?

10:00 should put you in the middle. 11:30ish the vtwin folks start drifting in. Ever see an extended front end duck walk and try to back and fill in a dirt lot packed with bikes and the misguided 4 wheeler. :lurk:

Well, now I'm screwed...

Didn't here anything by this AM when I left so I just drove to work. That sucks. I guess I'm out for the official ride out. Sorry dudes.

The shining light - Lorin and I will be riding Sunday so once I get out of work and back home, we will head east and see if any of you are still lingering at the VBC.

Armando,

I'm not sure your route, but if you're picking up 44 I wouldn't mind joining up with you guys. Just give me a point outside Hartford and a time...

Bill,

Let's shoot for 9AM. If you are coming up 84E, past Hartford, you will run into 384. Take exit 1 once on 384 which is Silver lane. At the end of the ramp, take a right and pull into the gas station on the left hand side. I can;t remember what kind of station it is but it is right off the exit. After the gas station there is a restaurant called Anna's. If you pass it, you have gone to far.

I will leave my house at 8:30 which should put me at the station right around 9AM

see you there.

Turns out I can't make it - wife has a couple of jobs for me to do :-(

Bummer too. I wanted to see how the new Multivex mirrors work on the road (just put them on today). Weather for next week is looking good though so I'll get to put some miles on then.

Have fun - and a vanilla coke.

That's frou-frou chi-chi to you! :)

Missed you today Jim! I rode out with Armando and Ray and split away in Eastford on Rt197/Rt198. We passed about 20 'Vettes out for a stroll, pretty cool.
