Freddie Spencer's Riding School is CLOSED DOWN!

This really is a bummer. Freddie was in evidence at the school, and did some teaching, but Nick Ienatsch was really the main instructor and driving force. I'd wondered, late last spring, if something might be up when I didn't get a response to an email query about another instructor, and his former GP teammate Jeff Haney.

Seems like maybe it's no coinkidink that the school has closed as Freddie's broadcasting career has expanded...as well as of course the current financial unpleasantness. Here's hoping Spencer opens the school again, and if not, Ienatsch finds a place to teach.

Yeah, I attended the school several years ago; I was the Class Dunce. Still am.

I'm sorry to hear that. I went through their three-day advanced course in Vegas, and everything was handled professionally, including the money. Nick did indeed do most of the teaching (he was very good), and Jeff did the demos (very good also). Freddie chimed in from time to time, but he was a terrible teacher--not articulate, confusing, and contradicted himself.

Regardless, it was a good course and worth the money. And I saw no evidence of financial trouble at the time.

This is a perfect description of his TV commentary!

Well if this is actually the case I don't see him being employed long as a commentator.

Jason DiSalvo was one of the instructors here in Vegas, great school. This is really a sign of the times when not many folks have discretionary funds.

Spencer's school trades on Spencer's name, reputation and Honda sponsorship. In my opinion Nick Ienatsch's classroom and on-track teaching is the real value of attending the school. I was there last fall, and there were only 9 riders in my class. I thought at the time that between track and motorcycle costs, they weren't make money on our group. I hope hope things work out OK Ienatsch.
