roadshadowww
I've done some recent posting here still I got my K-R but also post other place here on this site as I've kept my 12RT also. A lot of K riders go to the K-Bike site vs posting here. I like both. Link to comment
tallman
Did the same thing earlier this year when 48 hrs elapsed with no posts. I love my K. Do wonder about Buddy. and what's up w/him. Hope this is the classic no news is good news. Link to comment
Aluminum_Butt
I LOVE my K-GT. 4000 miles in the five weeks since I bought it, and I really can't find a single fault with the bike...well, OK, I replaced the factory horn and windscreen. Link to comment
Fasterpill
Been riding and working, and ... Scrubbed the K12 today in celebration - paid her off Thursday after selling Vroom Hilda. Well, you don't buy or sell a bike, it's more like adoption. Link to comment
Dennis Andress
It's a bitter sweat evening in my garage. My `91 K100 RS is standing here broke d**k. The engine mount on the head is in two pieces, the forks have a problem, and the fairing has been bitten by asphalt. Yet, next to it is a cherry `02 K1200 RS that arrived this afternoon. The K100 has to go, there's a `76 R90/6 on the other side of the K12 that needs to become my daily commuter. Anybody interested in a project bike? Link to comment
Laney
Yet, next to it is a cherry `02 K1200 RS that arrived this afternoon. Pictures, please. I don't post because I currently kinda don't have a K bike. It pulled away on a tow truck on June 10th, and I don't really know when I'll see it running again. .. and that's all I hae to say about that. Link to comment

Scott A
I've noticed that there's not a lot of conversation here about the K-S and K-R. I've started to outfit my K-S and I've been hoping to here from all the smart folks here as they do the same. Maybe Tool is right - everybody is out riding. Link to comment
Calvin (no socks)
Just got back from a early run on the new Ks.....boy that bike eats up the asphalt.....I gotta mount that frickin radar detector before I get a performance award....I just put the 2620 on the tank, it bounces around alot on that battery cover thing.... Bert
.... I don't post because I currently kinda don't have a K bike. It pulled away on a tow truck on June 10th, and I don't really know when I'll see it running again. .. and that's all I hae to say about that. All very odd. A KRS that hasn't run well for many months - caused by obvious dealer incompetence. Finally looks like a settlement - with a non-disclosure agreement, of course. Now close to 8 weeks later still no KRS. Some settlement. Very strange. Link to comment
beamergirl
Got my K12RS during winter, so all I got to do was look at it for a few months. Have been learning to ride it using Master Yoda's positioning, think I'm doing ok, kinda hard when no one is around to say nope, that's not right, do this, nope, do this, etc - so any bad habits being instilled will have to be undone/corrected when I finally meet someone else who has it down pat (maybe at Riding Smart when offered here in NY). I love the bike and enjoy riding it all day when opportunity allows. Paid it off, so that was a great thing! (Sold the RT - that was a day.) Have had no issues, is running like a charm so got a good one, I love the colors (blue/white). I'm thinking of changing the seat, windshield and getting Piaa lights - that's it. Have a tank bag and soft bag on back - holds my stuff and Mike's things at times. Am anxious to see new BMW offerings - eventually want something lighter but same flavor as KRS (or RT). Only wish - there were more goodies offered for KRS. Next.... Link to comment

Dennis Andress
...yet it hasn't been started since I pulled in from the last Torrey. Doesn't that void the warranty or something?? Link to comment
BrianT
I thought starting it voided the warranty. Isn't that what they told Laney? Link to comment
Laney
I thought starting it voided the warranty. Isn't that what they told Laney? I thought it was something like starting, riding, and parking like a girl voids the warranty... But then again, I really can't remember. Must be a girl thing. Link to comment
tallman
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/ http://piratesk12site.net/Product.htm This should be more than enough stuff to add to a KRS. Link to comment
ELP_JC
I really like my KGT yet it hasn't been started since I pulled in from the last Torrey. I only put 300 miles on my KRS (one mountain trip) since the THC rally... and that was in April Can't stand the 100º+ relentless TX heat, so I only put 10 miles every month to keep the warranty in place . Hey, talking about warranty, it'll be over in a month . Need to take care of the recurring timing cover leak. If I could only know if the seals are going to crap out on me... I decided to take the risk; I like the bike too much, and nothing really grabs my attention right now. Will try to hit the 10K mark before the warranty is over, just in case a seal failure is looming (9K on it now). Good day gentlemen. Link to comment
beamergirl
Any websites for a tank wrap? Saw one at expo at Americade on same bike as mine - color coordinated blue/white, but you had to buy the whole tank bag system too. I don't like the protectors that go up the center of the tank (or at least any seen so far). Link to comment

Dennis Andress
Mike I'm so sorry I trashed the bike you sold me. If you want it back I've got a plan. It could be resonably repaired. I've put a lot of new parts into it. You'd be surprised at how it runs. Look for a PM Link to comment

Scribner
Hey, hey, just upgraded to a 2004 model. Sold the 2001 a few month ago and finally found one to buy. Just in time for some fall riding. Link to comment

Caseyd
I'll post. My bike had been seeming a bit odd latly. Checked the air pressure and both were about 7 psi low. Also the suspension was still cranked on high from a ride with my wife I forgot to turn down. So proper tire pressure, and proper suspension load make it MUCH better. Take it from me, check you tire pressure today!!! Link to comment
beamergirl
So what is different from the '01 to the '04? Hope you like your new one, I love mine. Link to comment
Scribner
Don't know about cruise control. Have not played with it yet but it should be nice on the road when its quiet and not much traffic to work with. She is red, the old one was yellow with the taxi decals. The ride home was great although I grabed too much throttle for the first take off. Seems to be little throttle resistance compared to the '01. Having not been on a bike is several months I now have the grins again. Was out tonight in city traffic and the temp gage got a little close to red, all fluids are in the green, not sure about it. The OAT tonight is 89F. She seems to have more power than the old one but it had 75k+ miles on it. Now to find a good saddle and some other extras. Link to comment
beamergirl
They tend to run hot when moving slow - it was a big concern to me when I first got mine - after reading a few posts, they all tend to get right up to the red, then the fan kicks in. I still hold my breath and listen for that fan Yeah, the throttle can get you in trouble fast, and you don't even realize it The police set up just a few 100 feet up the road from our drive way around a corner (so you don't know they're there till it's too late), been lucky more times than care to count! Mine's the blue/white and really like the colors. Link to comment
Fasterpill
The cruise control has saved my butt a few times, and my throttlemeister has overridden it for at least one ticket... I love it. Once you set it, you just tap forward to speed up 1 mph or tap towards you to slow down 1 mph at a time. And giving that right wrist a rest is pretty sweet on a long haul. Link to comment
Calvin (no socks)
I just took my GT out this morning to run a tank of gas out and make a breakfast run...I forgot how much I love the Cruise... The throttle is a bear, I must modify the springs.....I have been breaking in a K1200s and miss the cruise, but the throttle is easy and fun to twist..... Link to comment
Scribner
Ok, I am in love with cruise control. Finally got time to do about 350 mi. today and what a luxury to rest that right hand!!! The one mph bump is sweet and makes control in traffic very managable. Today was near perfect, the only bobble was the ford in front that decided to wash his windshield at 80 on the interstate, got a nice spray before I could dodge out of the way. Link to comment
Laney
Cruise Control is addictive. I've put a little over 600 miles on the "new and improved" Buddy. Clean miles. I changed the oil once, and would've done it again today but the heat is neutralizing all my ambition. Buddy's ruuning really well, there was a little snag in the throttle cable routing that kept the cruise control from working, but that's straightened out, and all's well. It'll be good to ride him to Torrey again -- and feel certain I'll get all the way there and back! Link to comment
ESokoloff
Cruise Control is addictive. Yes but that can be a bad thing when you ride mutable bikes & get used to the cruse on the GT Nice to read good things about Buddy Link to comment
