valeriek
Does anyone have experience with both bikes - what are the key differences that are evident? Link to comment
Twisties
The ST has a much more forward riding position due the relatively rearward placement of the foot pegs compared the RT. So while I've sat on one, I actually can't ride it, needing an upright position due to a neck injury. The other major differences, that you can see from the specs: The RT has features available like cruise control, and heated seats, larger more useful luggage, that are important to some riders. The RT is also a heavier, more powerful bike. The RT handles great for it's class, but the ST, being smaller, more narrow, and lighter is likely the easier bike to ride, a bit quicker in turns. bigmac
They are totally diffent bikes. I tried an 800 but quickly went R1200RT Link to comment
swfraley
Totally different. Go ride them both. I rode the F800ST and LOVED it, but it doesn't fit my mission. Link to comment
bmurphypdx
Rode an 800ST as a loaner some weeks back. Nice bike but not as stable at high speed as the R1200. Like the post above said . . . Link to comment
