Urban Surfer
A year ago when I bought a diesel truck, the fuel was 10 cents a liter cheaper that gas. Now it is 15 cents higher that gas. I believe diesel is cheaper to produce even after the new low sulfur fuel was introduced. Every time we change to the less expensive fuel the price goes up. When more people start driving electric cars, look out! Running your refrigerator may not be viable Link to comment
Tony_K
Yup. Since September 2004, diesel prices have been higher than regular gasoline prices almost continuously for several reasons: High worldwide demand for diesel fuel and other distillate fuel oils, especially in Europe, China, India and the United States, and a tight global refining capacity available to meet demand. The transition to lower-sulfur diesel fuels in the United States is affecting diesel fuel production and distribution costs. The Federal excise tax on on-highway diesel fuel is 6 cents per gallon higher (at 24.4 cents/gallon) than the tax on gasoline. For more on US stats lookie here Link to comment
eddd
Living on the border, I can cross into Mexico and get diesel for about $2.20 a gallon, which I last did in June. I'm due for another ride across to fill up again. Link to comment
