Auto1
I haven't made a trip yet,but was wondering how to attach gear to the rear seat (R1200RT).Do the rails that surround the back seat work ok? I had BUNGIE BUDDIES on the side cases, for my 1100RT and they worked out good. The side cases on this bike seem to thick for me to install bungie buddies on them.Just curious to see what and if anybody is using other than the side rail to mount their gear. ShovelStrokeEd
Just a small chunk of advise. Bungee Buddies are good little devices. If you plan on attaching anything heavier or less aerodynamic than a sock monkey to your bike though, you are better off using straps rather than bungee's. A crossed pair of straps, with loops on one end and double D-rings on the other is a far, far more secure way to fasten down your stuff. We had a fellow on a K12RS die down here in Florida cause of a cargo net holding a rucksack to the rear seat of his bike. 100+ mph and the wind blew it off the bike, around the tail piece and it fouled and locked his rear wheel.
