majordad Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I don't like the airflow gloves by BMW. I can't see paying that amount of money for what feels like a flimsy glove. For several years I've been using your garden variety leather work glove but this year I've been mildly bothered by the heat and palm moisture. Any recommendations?
Jeepster Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I really like Mechanix work gloves, like they sell to mechanics. Several different styles and all sizes available. Good for 3 season riding. Available at most auto parts stores for under $30. no affiliation etc.
DPWiegs Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 FWIW...I just picked up a pair of Castle perforated leather gloves at a local bike shop for $30. 100% leather outer (perforated back-side/solid palm-side) gel pad under heel & under knuckles; outer-sewn seams. Not a whole lot of protection in the event of a crash, but I've been very pleased with the 90+ days out here in the mid-West. My only whine is I wish my right thumb had slightly more length...presses a bit on the end after a while. I have a large, so I may go back and try an XL. Yeeha! Stephen Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I like these Cortech GX Air gloves. Really work in our Heat.

stubblejumper Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I use these in black. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/37/26/ITEM/Icon-Super-Duty-Gloves.aspx
taters Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 i just got a pair from gripswell.com love em .just remember to order a size larger than you normally wear as i find them smaller that the stated size.
Junkman3353 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I've been wearing these for a year and a half. Very comfortable and soft and my hands have NEVER been too hot or too cold. I do add silk liners in the winter. http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Aerostich-Elkskin-Roper-p-16818.html
bobsden Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I`ve just bought some Oxford Bone-dry summer gloves cost £17($33) light weight and waterproof. Good value
Troy Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I picked up a pair of Scorpion Cool Hand Gloves. These things are comfortable and cool andstill have more protection than most mesh type gloves.
BeemerLover Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I've used these Kevlar gloves for years. They have padded palm and fingers and are mesh so they help with vibration and are cool. Extremely well made. Cost $12.99. Link: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92172 Gael
Pennys Dad Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I pretty much use a pair of Steves (Held gloves). I use them about 3/4's of the year here in SoCal. During these summer months freeway temps are as high as 110, and Steve does just fine. http://www.heldusa.com/steve.htm They seem heavy and hot but once you break them in, they are very comfortable.
Stokes Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Nobody mentioned Olympia. I have a pair of their 750 Ventors and have worn them in high heat and humidity. They are a nice pair of lightweight gloves that still feel like they provide protection ($40).
Hoover Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 +1 on the Olympia. I use the 360 Road Warrior and they have been wonderful. I just got back from Tucson with 100+ degree heat and they still kept my hands cool and dry. Just enough gel in the palm to keep it comfortable, but not make it feel wierd. Olympia 360 Road Warrior
