Dances_With_Wiener_Dogs Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I don't know much about them. Here's the text for the advert: K75S 1994 ABS, Fox shock, hard bags with liners, tank bag, Corbin Seat, heated grips, Fiamm horns, tail rack, low mileage Metzlers, and a recently added gel battery. This is an experienced bike; 93,000 non-commuter miles worth. But it’s in great shape and looks really sharp. As a BMW it’s easily got another 93K in it. I wouldn’t hesitate to take off cross country on it tomorrow. And it consistently gets around 50 mpg. Price: $3650 And here are the photos: K75 photos Sounds good, yes or not?
breyfogle Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 It's true that it probably has "another 93K miles in it" but it also is 14 years old and getting older. I would want to see any past service records and if the owner can not produce them, discount the price a bit. Even though Klassic K bikes have a well deserved reputation for being almost indestructable, any 14 year old bike with 93K miles on it will develop the occassional problem. Rubber parts crack, plastic parts get brittle, electrical plugs get corroded, etc. If you are prepared to do the little things, buy it. Pretty bike !!
Deadboy Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Price is too high for that miles in my opinion.... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/mcy/751815279.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/mcy/754837997.html http://wsbmwr.org/forsale.htm That being said I love my K75...smooth and fun!!
Dances_With_Wiener_Dogs Posted July 18, 2008 Author Posted July 18, 2008 I started to look in earnest at the stuff available locally and saw that K75RT here in Seattle. Really, I need to sell the KTM first and then take the proceeds shopping. Thanks for confirming that the older K bikes are worthy commuter machines.
Deadboy Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Buy the one in CA and I will ride it up for you.....
