ScottM Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Sorry if this has been covered before but is there a bulb likely to be found in an auto part store that replaces the tail light and signal bulbs on an 06 RT. I'm 100 miles from dealer and heading up to NS for a week. Thanks. Scott
GordonB Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Should be a simple replacement, check your owner's manual for the bulb number.
gettysburg Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Bulb designation is: 12vP21W (for clear) (GE specific #1057) 12vPY21W (for yellow) (GE specific #1056) The bulbs should be as common as dirt. On the 1200RT, the turn signal and brake/tail light lamps are the same unless you have clear turn signal lenses; in which case you'll need the yellow bulbs.
Pictou Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 They are common but hard to find using the European numbers (P21W). However the one I bought, which was a GE, was labeled 1156. This was a clear bulb. Not sure about the 1056 GE numbering you quote. It may be the same as well but all I can say is the one I got in Canada from a local auto parts place was a GE long life bulb labeled 1156. Bulb designation is: 12vP21W (for clear) (GE specific #1057) 12vPY21W (for yellow) (GE specific #1056) The bulbs should be as common as dirt. On the 1200RT, the turn signal and brake/tail light lamps are the same unless you have clear turn signal lenses; in which case you'll need the yellow bulbs.
gettysburg Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 The spare bulb I have has "GE 1057" stamped on the base. It's clear with a single efilament. I looked at G.E.'s Automotive Lamp Guide to get the number for the yellow/amber bulb.
97oilhead Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Walmart in Canada, carries both headlight and the brake\turn lights. So I imagine they would carry them in the US as well.
