Lots to do, lots of good restaurants. The riding is factastic from here in SW Virginia, Eastern Tn, and the mountains of NC. The Blue Ridge Parkway goes through Boone and the Dragon is close. The weather will be cool, in the high 70's low 80's and the nights are in the 60's. This is a laid back rally - great comaraderie in the registration tent... KevinH Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Great Rally. Had a nice time. Saturday BBQ was awesome. Riding the area fantastic. Boone traffic not so cool, but would do it again. Very nice event.
BeemerLover Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 Glad you enjoyed it, Kevin. We had 275 show up which broke all records. On Saturday a bunch of us rode north to highway 58 in Virginia and then west through Damascus to Abingdon, Va where we visited a working water wheel powered grist mill and then a winery. Came back through Damascus, then south through Shady Valley and back to Boone on very twisty highway 421. Great time, excellent weather and lots of fun around the campfire. Boone traffic was bad since college students were coming back to school. Consider joining us next year! Gael
