Has anyone mounted a Fuzeblocks FZ-1 on an (2003) or similar RT-P (or RT)? I was going to buy one to do some rewiring, but was concerned about fitting it in. I just tried a similar size block of wood, and other then the tail end (where my Autocom is), I can't see a place where it will fit. Any body had a luck mounting an FZ-1?

I was just on the www.fuzeblocks.com site , and I see that he's out of stock anyways...

What about under one of the side covers? I was able to mount a Bluesea fuse block there and it much larger than the FZ1. Tap Plastics can make a custom mount plate out of plastic which you can zip tie into the bike. The fuse block screws onto the plastic mounting plate. I never had a problem with my fuse block mounted there. I mounted mine on the left side.

Cheers!

A good idea, and thinking outside the box...

It's easy to think along the lines of symetrical, under the seat, but I'm guessing (if I looked) there is plenty room to the sides under the tupperware.

Cheers!

No not the tupperware, I was talking about the small side cover under your legs. They are the perfect size for hiding a fuse block.

I guess I was thinking too far outside the box...

I don't suppose you would have a photograph of your installation would you? Please... I think I can see a place within the frame area on the left side, by the lift handle.

Seems like that area could get fairly "damp", wouldn't it?

I'd like to see a few photos also........

Unfortunately I no longer have any photos of my install having become a little over zealous in cleaning out my hard drive one day. Basically I used a small piece of aluminum but plastic would have been easier to work with. I removed the side cover that the left side lift handle goes through. Under the cover is part of the frame and you can craft a small mounting plate that fits in this space using zip ties to secure it to the frame. If you use a blue sea fuse box it will just fit. I would recommend the Centech AP2 as it is smaller and more rugged. I have this under the seat of my K12S and it is dead simple to install and smaller that the BlueSea.

Cheers!

Gotcha!

I'll fashion up a tempate with cardboard, get some Lexan or similar and go to town.

When I'm done I'll post the template (assuming it works) as it seems like a good thing people might want to know about.

Cheers!

Curt should have them back in stock about mid August... I have one mounted in my R1200RT under the seat. Works great...

Yep, I'm on his waiting list.

As far as I can tell, it will not fit under my seat (2003 R1150RT-P). Only choice will be under the side panel (already have a mounting plate ready) or in the tail (too far to run all the wires.
